Lopez has struggled with control issues to begin the season, walking five batters in each of his first two starts. The left-hander remains one of many underwhelming options as part of a disappointing Athletics rotation for manager Mark Kotsay early on, posting a 6.48 ERA and 2.28 WHIP to go along with a 0.60 K/BB ratio with an 0-1 record across two starts.
