Jacob Lopez officially sent to Triple-A Tuesday

The Athletics have optioned left-hander Jacob Lopez to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Fantasy Impact

Lopez was shelled for seven earned runs in just two innings against the Yankees on Sunday, and will head back to Las Vegas to try and work out the kinks. The southpaw sports a 6.75 ERA through 12 outings (10 starts), and his 5.92 xFIP doesn't exactly point towards much positive regression on the horizon.

Jacob Lopez grinds out win despite short outing against Padres

Jacob Lopez allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk while striking out three over 4 2/3 innings in Sunday's win over the Padres.

Fantasy Impact

Lopez has offered mixed results on the mound of late, allowing less than three earned runs in three of his last five trips to the mound. The left-hander remains one of the more risky options in the Athletics rotation for manager Mark Kotsay, posting a 5.73 ERA and 1.77 WHIP with a 4-2 record and 1.13 K/BB ratio across 11 appearances.
