Jacob Webb recorded two outs to earn his first career save on Monday against the Padres.
With Luke Jackson and A.J. Minter unavailable, Webb was the next man up for the Braves. Although he has yet to allow a run this season, it seems highly unlikely that a team with playoff aspirations like the Braves would be willing to turn over their closer's role to a rookie full-time. Still, if you're speculating on saves, keep Webb on your watch list.
The Braves have recalled RHP reliever Jacob Webb from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Webb will join the Braves bullpen after a flurry of roster moves related to Arodys Vizcaino's trip to the 10-Day IL. Webb has electric stuff —opponents hit just .143 against him in four-innings of Triple-A work this season. The 25-year-old Webb was an 18th round draft pick of the Braves in 2014.
