Josh Hader has been throwing lightly on flat ground, and the Houston Astros expect to have a better sense of his readiness for the season by the middle of the week. (Source: Buster Olney on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Hader was shut down in mid-August last season with a left shoulder capsule sprain. Astros GM Dana Brown said in mid-November that Hader had thrown off a mound three times, but it appears he may have experienced a setback during the offseason, as he has recently been limited to light throwing on flat ground. If Hader opens the season on the injured list, Bryan Abreu would likely handle save chances for Houston.

Veteran reliever Hunter Strickland has re-signed with the Los Angeles Angels on a minor league deal. The contract includes an invitation to spring training. (Source: Jon Heyman on X)
Fantasy Impact: Strickland is an 11-year veteran at the big league level and has posted a career ERA of 3.37 in 499 appearances. The righthander has pitched each of the last two seasons with the Angels and has a 3.30 ERA across 91 appearances. He did spend most of last season on the shelf with inflammation on his throwing shoulder and was limited to just 22 innings. If healthy, Strickland should have no problem being a consistent arm in the Angels' bullpen.
