CF,RF - MIA
JJ Bleday went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, a walk, two runs scored, and one RBI in Miami’s 4-3 loss in Philadelphia on Wednesday.
The triple was the first of Bleday’s young Major League career. It was also Bleday’s first three-hit game and third multi-hit game. Bleday has now hit safely in 11 of his first 17 games with seven extra-base hits. Bleday is slashing .259/.328/.466 with two home runs, three RBI, seven runs scored, and a stolen base in 58 at-bats since being called up in late July.
JJ Bleday hit a solo home run off Reds' starter, Luis Castillo, in the fourth inning on Wednesday. It was his lone hit in four at-bats during the 5-3 loss.
The long ball was the first career home run for the rookie playing in his fifth career game. Bleday has three extra-base hits and a steal during his first week in the majors while hitting in the middle of the Marlins lineup. He should get plenty of playing time over the rest of the season.
JJ Bleday went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and a stolen base in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Pirates.
After a brief debut Saturday, Bleday got his first shot in the Marlins starting lineup Sunday afternoon. The fourth-overall pick from the 2019 MLB Draft took advantage of the opportunity, picking up his first two big-league hits along with a steal. Bleday posted an .835 OPS with 20 homers over 85 games at Triple-A this year. He is certainly worth an add for the stretch run in standard formats.
The Marlins' fourth-ranked prospect OF JJ Bleday joined the team in Pittsburgh on Saturday, though no official move has been made yet.
Bleday slashed .229/.365/.470 with 20 home runs and 52 RBI in Triple-A Jacksonville this season. Assuming he is activated, this will be the first trip to the majors for the fourth-overall pick from the 2019 draft. He could be worth a flyer for rebuilding teams in dynasty leagues; those in redraft can take a wait-and-see approach.
