Eligibility
Free agent reliever Joakim Soria has been drawing interest from 4/5 of the AL West, including the A's, Angels, Astros, and Rangers, according to Jon Morosi.
Fantasy Impact
Soria is getting up there in age, he'll turn 37 in May, but he's still got some gas left in the tank. He was very effective out of the bullpen for the A's last season. He registered a 2.82 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 24 strikeouts over 22 1/3 innings. He would make for a good fit with any of the interested clubs.
Joakim Soria blew a save and took the loss when he coughed up two runs on two hits with one strikeout and three walks across 2/3 inning in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against the Mariners.
Fantasy Impact
This was a rough outing for Soria who got out two of the first three batters he faced before giving up a double and three straight walks and was replaced by J.B. Wendelken. The 36-year old had just walked six batters all season before tonight. He took his first blown save of the year, his second loss, and now owns a 3.26 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and a 23:9 K/BB ratio across 19 1/3 innings this season.
Joakim Soria came in to get the final five outs of Wednesday’s 6-4 win over the Rangers striking out three and allowing no hits or runs.
Fantasy Impact
Soria now has two saves and a win on the year with 11 strikeouts over 6.2 innings and has yet to allow an earned run. Soria was giving Liam Hendriks a rest, but if your league awards holds Soria is worth a look.
Joakim Soria pitched the ninth of Monday’s 3-0 win over the Angels, giving up two hits and striking out two.
Fantasy Impact
Soria got the save with Liam Hendriks coming off an extended outing on Sunday. Hendriks remains the man to own for saves, Soria will slide back into his set up role.
Joakim Soria allowed one run on one hit while striking out two through an inning in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Yankees. He picked up his first save of the season.
Fantasy Impact
Soria was called upon in the ninth inning to protect a three-run lead. He allowed a solo home run to Gleyber Torres, but was able to settle down and notch his first save of the season. Soria now has 221 saves to his name over the course of his career, but will continue his usual setup role with Hendriks firmly entrenched as the team's closer.
