Jose De Leon moving rehab to Durham

Jose De Leon (elbow), who fired three scoreless innings in which he allowed two hits and a walk while recording a strikeout in High-A Charlotte's win over St. Lucie last Thursday, is slated to continue his rehab with multiple appearances at Triple-A Durham, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Fantasy Impact

De Leon continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery and could be back with the Rays by early June. Fantasy owners in AL-Only and dynasty formats may want to stash De Leon. Keep an eye on updates to see how the 26-year-old righty progresses.

Jose De Leon (elbow) to throw in extended spring training Saturday

Jose De Leon (elbow) will pitch in an extended spring training game on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

Just like teammate Brent Honeywell, De Leon will throw either one inning or 25 pitches, whichever comes first. De Leon is recovering from Tommy John surgery and is expected back sometime around mid-season.

Jose De Leon gets placed on the 10-day injured list

Rays placed RHP Jose De Leon on the 10-day injured list with a right elbow injury.

Fantasy Impact

De Leon needed Tommy John surgery last March and is probably going to miss at least the first two months of the season. De Leon was a top pitching prospect before the injury and keep be someone to stash if fantasy owners have the room.

Jose De Leon diagnosed with a torn UCL

Jose De Leon has been diagnosed with a torn UCL. He will seek a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews.

Fantasy Impact

De Leon is no longer draftable in redraft leagues, of course, and his dynasty value is greatly decreased. For now, ignore him for fantasy purposes, but keep an eye on him down the road in a few years.

Jose De Leon picks up win against Rangers

Jose De Leon was credited with a win in his Rays debut after allowing three runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief Monday against the Rangers.

Fantasy Impact

De Leon was called up to give the Rays some pitching depth after depleting their bullpen in a 15 inning game on Sunday. He was sent back down to Triple-A after the game. He will head back into the Durham rotation and should get a call up again soon. He is someone who should be rostered in Dynasty leagues and all fantasy owners should keep their eye on De Leon.
