Kendrys Morales went 3-for-3 with a walk, double, home run, and the lone RBI in the Royals' 2-1 loss on Sunday. Morales has a .234 batting average, seven extra-base hits, eight runs scored, and 10 RBI in July. He has a .775 OPS this season.

Fantasy Impact: Morales seems to be getting in the swing of things in the second half, as he went without an extra-base hit in seven straight games before posting a double on Saturday and two extra-base hits on Sunday. While his .257 batting average and 38 runs scored are below par, his 16 home runs and 49 RBI make him a good secondary option as a utility player in deeper leagues.

Fantasy Impact: Morales has his average up to .264 after starting the year off below .200. Over his last 30 games he is hitting .385 with 10 HR, 28 RBI and 21 runs. He is not likely to maintain this pace, but he should fall somewhere between his high and low outputs. Hopefully you held onto Morales and are now reaping the rewards. If not, he may be a small chip to acquire for a late season push into the fantasy playoffs.

Fantasy Impact: Morales is finally hitting over .200, but he has been awful for fantasy owners this year. If you are counting on a guy who is hitting .203 with six HR, 22 RBI and 17 runs then your team is likely struggling. Morales should only be considered in AL-only leagues.

Kendrys Morales on a hot streak

Mon, Jun 22nd 2:02am EDT
By Jamie Mellor

Kendrys Morales has gone 8-for-19 with a walk, a HR and four RBI in his past five game.

Fantasy Impact: He has 35 runs scored and 45 RBI so far this season. The main annoyance with him is that he is only eligible for 1B (or in some leagues only Util) where his numbers are not as remarkable. He should be owned in most leagues but there will be shallow leagues where you might struggle to find a slot to start him consistently.
