Ketel Marte led off Saturday's game against the Phillies with a solo home run for his only hit in four trips. The Diamondbacks, however, dropped a 4-3 decision in Philadelphia.
Fantasy Impact
Marte hit a 2-0 pitch from Phillies' starter Taijuan Walker over the wall in right center field for his second home run of the season. The second baseman is off to a slow start at the dish, slashing just .197/.258/.328 through 15 games. He has been a bit better over his last six games, hitting .250 (7-for-28) with five of his seven RBI on the year.
Ketel Marte ripped an RBI double off of Braves' reliever, Joel Payamps, in the bottom of the tenth inning to walk it off for the Diamondbacks, 6-5, on Sunday. Marte finished 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles.
Fantasy Impact
It didn't take long as Marte won the game on the first pitch he saw from Payamps in the bottom of the tenth. The second baseman also got the ball rolling for Arizona as he led off the bottom of the first with a double off of Braves' starter, Martin Perez, and came in to score on a sacrifice fly from Geraldo Perdomo. It's been a bit of a slow start for Marte as his two-hit performance upped his average to .178 (7-for-38) through 10 games. Nothing to worry about - he should still finish as one of the top fantasy second basemen when all is said and done.
Ketel Marte went 2-for-5 with a solo home run during the Diamondbacks' 5-4 loss to the Dodgers on Friday night.
Fantasy Impact
Marte hit his first home run of the young season in the top of the third off of Dodgers' starter, Emmet Sheehan. The veteran second baseman is in his 12th MLB campaign and has been an All-Star in each of the last two years. Despite missing 62 games in the last two seasons, Marte has totaled 64 home runs and 167 RBI while hitting .287 in the desert. There's no reason to think he won't come close to 30 home runs and 85-90 RBI again in 2026.
Ketel Marte will play for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic.
Fantasy Impact
Marte and Julio Rodriguez are the latest additions to the DR roster. The WBC is set to start on March 5.
Ketel Marte, who has been the source of multiple trade rumors this offseason, will remain with the Arizona Diamondbacks and "will not be traded," according to Ken Rosenthal.
Fantasy Impact
Good news for Diamondbacks fans as Marte will remain in Arizona for his 10th season in the desert in 2026. The three-time All-Star batted .283 with 28 home runs and 72 RBI in 126 games for the Diamondbacks last season. Marte has swatted 89 of his 171 career home runs in his last three seasons and is a lifetime .281 hitter at the big league level. The switch-hitting second baseman is still only 31, despite entering his 12th season in the majors, and will remain a major run producer in the Arizona lineup in 2026.
