The Reds have reassigned right-hander Lyon Richardson to minor league camp.

Richardson surrendered six runs (five earned) across 7 2/3 innings this spring prior to Saturday's move. The 26-year-old posted a 4.54 ERA across 37 2/3 innings with the Reds last season.

Lyon Richardson has been designated for assignment by the Cincinnati Reds. The move is to make room on the 40-man roster for newly-acquired outfielder, Dane Myers.

Richardson, a former second-round pick out of high school by the Reds in the 2018 MLB Draft, appeared in 39 games with Cincinnati from 2023-25. The righthander has pitched to a 6.05 career ERA in 55 innings at the big league level. Command has been an issue for Richardson as he has allowed 37 walks in those 55 innings. He has, however, averaged more than a strikeout per inning in his six minor league seasons.
