Eligibility
Marcus Walden recorded the final two outs of a 5-2 win over the Phillies to notch his first save of the season in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.
Fantasy Impact
With normal closer, Matt Barnes blowing the save in the first game of the doubleheader, Walden was brought in to close out the game in the second game. The 31-year-old righty owns a 9.53 ERA, 2.29 WHIP, and 8/9 K/BB ratio across 11 1/3 innings this season. Barnes should continue to be the main option for saves and Walden is not worth owning in fantasy.
Marcus Walden (0-1) allowed a run on a hit and a walk in one inning, taking the loss Saturday versus the Blue Jays.
Fantasy Impact
Walden is pitching in a middle relief role for the Red Sox this season and is now has given up two runs in six innings this season along with five strikeouts. The 31-year-old has no fantasy value.
Marcus Walden pitched three innings Saturday against the Orioles, allowing one run on three hits while striking out three to pick up the save.
Fantasy Impact
Craig Kimbrel owners have nothing to worry about. Walden had a large lead and earned the save by going three innings to end the game. Walden is not worth owning in fantasy. He is mainly used in long and middle relief and is not usually a candidate for saves or holds.
