Matt Peacock managed to go five innings on Saturday, allowing seven hits and two walks totalling up three earned runs. He did also manage to strike out three batters.
Fantasy Impact
It truthfully wasn't the worst outing for Peacock, but it certainly wasn't one to admire. He now has an ERA of 5.28 with hopes that he can improve upon it in his next start.
RHP Matt Peacock took the loss on Monday when he surrendered three runs on 10 hits with three walks and three strikeouts over five innings as the D-Backs lost to the Giants 5-2.
Fantasy Impact
Peacock took his lumps in this one and was lucky to have only given up three runs as he allowed 13 base runners over his five innings. Brandon Belt smoked an RBI double in the third inning and Brandon Crawford blasted a two-run homer in the fifth. The D-Backs couldn't muster up enough run support so Peacock was saddled with his fourth loss. He now owns a 5.26 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and 27:13 K/BB ratio over 39 1/3 innings (14 appearances, six starts). He'll draw the Dodgers on the road in his next start and should be avoided for streaming purposes.
RHP Matt Peacock took the loss on Wednesday by allowing three runs on three hits with three walks and a strikeout over just 1 2/3 of an inning. He exited in the second inning after mishandling a comebacker off his right hand.
Fantasy Impact
Peacock attempted to barehand a hard, chopping comebacker off the bat of Jed Lowrie with two outs remaining in the second inning before exiting the contest early. He nearly got out of the inning the at-bat before when Mark Canha crushed a two-run triple, which was caught and subsequently dropped by Ketel Marte after he slammed into the wall. It was bad luck for Peacock but there was a bit of good news as the X-rays he received after leaving the game turned up negative. He's just dealing with some numbness in his finger and should be fine for his next turn in the rotation.
RHP Matt Peacock took the loss on Friday when he surrendered four runs (three earned) with four walks and two strikeouts in the D-Backs' 5-1 loss to the Brewers.
Fantasy Impact
Peacock lacked control on Friday as he issued four free passes, which is one more than he's surrendered over his previous 11 appearances combined. He served up a home run to Daniel Vogelbach in the first inning, an RBI groundout to Jackie Bradley Jr. in the second, and an RBI double to Omar Narvaez in the third. Two runs scored off the Narvaez two-bagger but a Pavin Smith throwing error meant one of them was unearned. The inefficient outing raised his season ERA to 4.68 to go along with a 1.19 WHIP and a 23:7 K/BB ratio over 32 2/3 innings. He gets the Angels in his next turn but isn't much of a fantasy option outside of NL-only leagues.
RHP Matt Peacock earned the win on Sunday when he allowed two runs on six hits with six strikeouts over six innings in a 9-2 win over the Cardinals.
Fantasy Impact
Peacock got off to a shaky start when he allowed a solo homer to Dylan Carlson in the first inning and an RBI double to Andrew Knizner in the second. It looked like the Diamondbacks were on their way to losing their 14th straight game but Peacock was able to regroup and work four more scoreless innings to notch a quality start. The Arizona offense came to life and he earned his second win of the season. The 27-year-old righty now owns a 4.50 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 21:3 K/BB ratio over 28 innings (11 games, three starts). He'll face the Brewers in Milwaukee in his next start and should garner some streaming consideration for that one.
