Eligibility
Matthew Szczur went 1-for-5 and drove in the second run for the Cubs to make it 2-0 in the second inning. He also hit the ground ball in the 13th inning that lead to the throwing error that scored Almora.
Fantasy Impact
He is going to struggle to provide reliable fantasy value without some injuries or a trade since he is currently behind several players most days. He will still see the occasional start or bench-hit appearance to keep him from getting rusty. He also can be a sneaky DFS play on the days you know he is starting with a good match up.
Matthew Szczur came up in the sixth inning as a pinch-hitter with the Cubs up 4-3 and Willson Contreras on second base with two outs. He hit a ground ball that the middle infielder corralled. Fearing he couldn't throw out Szczur to end the inning, the fielder instead chose to try to nail Contreras at home. Contreras managed to get in around the tag and that run would prove the final margin as the Cubs won 5-4.

Szczur has had some great moments of stepping up for the Cubs but Wednesday he did it without entering the game. With Rizzo struggling and having made another out in his first at-bat, Szczur loaned Rizzo his bat. Rizzo went on to drive in three runs after that.
Fantasy Impact
This had no fantasy impact on Szczur but it was a note-worthy moment for Cubs fans.
Szczur came in as a pinch runner and played left field before eventually scoring a run in the eighth inning.
Fantasy Impact
He simply is not getting enough plate appearances to be a starter in most fantasy leagues.
