The White Sox could not pull the clean sweep over the Rays and lost 3-5 on Thursday. Melky Cabrera went 0-for-4, but recorded his 83rd RBI when he grounded out in the sixth inning.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera did not have a great day going hitless, but the RBI definitely helps. He is a decent option to play in deeper leagues still competing for the championship and is a cheaper option in DFS.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera continues to prove his worth in category leagues. He did not record any counting stats, but he continues to reach base most nights. With a .297 batting average for the season, this was more than anyone could have expected of Cabrera from a fantasy standpoint.

The White Sox have won three games in a row, but a little too late as these games mean little. Melky Cabrera padded his season stats with his 40th double. He finished the night 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera has returned great value based on where he was drafted. He had a couple slumps but is hitting .296 on the year. Cabrera should continue to be used during the playoffs.

Thanks to a seven run inning in the bottom of the sixth, the White Sox beat the Indians 8-1. They also set a world record for the most dogs at a sporting event with over 1,000 in attendance. Melky Cabrera did not have the best of nights, but he at least snagged a hit. He finished 1-for-4 with a run.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera is hitting .007 over his career average this year. He has had some cold streaks, but has been a pleasant surprise for anyone who drafted him. Look to continue to use him category leagues and in daily lineups.

The White Sox continue to flirt with mediocrity by doubling up the Athletics 4-2. They are now five games under .500 for the year. Melky Cabrera was able to get on base by going 1-for-4. He also stole his second base of the season.

Fantasy Impact: Do not expect Cabrera to steal many bases. He may not even record another one all year. Cabrera has been a consistent contributor all year. In category leagues he should be played on most teams, but in daily he lacks the power to help you dominate.

The White Sox and Royals needed 10 innings to decide Tuesday's game. The White Sox came out on top thanks to a three-run HR by Todd Frazier in the 10th. Melky Cabrera had another good performance at the plate. He finished 1-for-4 with two RBI, a walk and a run scored.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera has been the most consistent and arguably the best hitter for the White Sox this season. He looked to be going through a slump, hitting .167 over his last seven games. However, it seems he is snapping out of it quickly based on Tuesday's performance. Cabrera's only downfall, and it's a big one for fantasy, is his power numbers. He is projecting for a total of 14 HR this year. Cabrera is still a must own in most leagues and a value option in daily.

The White Sox topped the Yankees 8-2 on Monday. Melky Cabrera looked good at the plate and made a somewhat diving catch. He finished two for five with a run scored.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera has been a good fantasy player this year. He is not great, but he has been consistent for category leagues. He should be owned in most formats and is also good trade bait if you need to add just a regular guy to try and get a big fish.

Fantasy Impact: The double was Cabrera's 14th on the year. He has played well and is hitting .287. He is not a fantasy star but is worth owning in most formats. He has hit safely in six of his 10 games in June and has six RBI over the last seven. He will face off against Trevor Bauer and the Indians on Friday. Cabrera has a .063 average in 16 at-bats against Bauer.

Category: , Game Recaps

Cabrera went 2-for-5 as he returned from family leave.

Fantasy Impact: He is an under-the-radar fantasy outfielder who will score some runs, produce some RBI and has potential for a solid batting average. He has even better odds of being productive if they continue to let him bat fifth like tonight.

Category: , Game Recaps

The White Sox have gone from a six game lead to third place in three weeks. They now find themselves only two games over .500. The offense was nonexistent on Monday as they lost 0-1 to Matt Harvey and the Mets. Melky Cabrera was not any help. He finished 0-for-2 with a strikeout.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera has been one of the most consistent hitters on the South Side. That said, not one person is hitting over .300 on the White Sox. Cabrera is worth a roster spot, but deploy him with caution. Even if he hits well, he is limited at generating runs and RBI if others cannot get on base or make contact.

Category: , Game Recaps

Melky Cabrera has home runs in two consecutive games and is 4-for-11 with two doubles against the Royals' starter on Saturday, Yordano Ventura. Cabrera has doubled his home run total over these last two games and has seven RBI in his last four games. He has a .789 OPS this season.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera has worse statistics on the road (.857 OPS vs. 730) and against right-handed pitchers (.838 OPS vs. 776), but he has very good statistics against Ventura and is 6-for-15 against the Royals this season. His .820 OPS in May should have him on all season long rosters, especially since he has seen his RBI jump from seven in April to 17 in May.

The White Sox continue to not be swept. Cabrera helped with a two-out double that drove in two RBI in the fifth inning. Those runs were enough as the White Sox won 3-2 over the Royals. Cabrera finished 2-for-4 with the two RBI.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera is one of the White Sox hottest hitters. He is driving the ball well and now has nine doubles. Over the last 15 games, Cabrera is .328 with an .857 OPS. Fantasy Impact: Cabrera is not a polarizing fantasy player, but he has good value. He is hitting just under .300 and usually bats sixth in a decent lineup. Cabrera is projecting for another 50-plus runs and 50-plus RBI this season. He should be owned in all formats.

Category: , Game Recaps

The White Sox have now lost four straight games. Melky Cabrera tried to help the team with his RBI triple in the sixth inning. Unfortunately, they lost 5-3 to the Astros. Cabrera finished 2-for-4 with a RBI and a strikeout.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera continues to be a solid fantasy player this year. He is hitting .300 and is showing great plate awareness. Cabrera could be a solid trade high option. He will likely finish the year close to his .285 career average, but he is only on pace for around 50 more runs and 50 more RBI. If you find you need help in other categories, Cabrera could be the trade bait to get what you need.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera started out the year cold, but has been on fire over the last two weeks. He now has his average up to .320. His only shortcoming is that his hits have not developed in a large number of runs or RBI. Either way, Cabrera should be owned in most formats right now.

Category: , Game Recaps

He is now up to a .200 batting average for the season. Cabrera and the White Sox will face a tough matchup in Danny Salazar on Friday. Cabrera is probably someone to leave on your bench for Friday's game.

The White Sox and Oakland had another game decided by only one run. Unfortunately, this time the White Sox found themselves on the losing side. One positive note is that Melky Cabrera recorded his first hit. He was able to get his first hit to leadoff the ninth inning. He finished 1-for-4 on the night.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera is tricky. He struggled at times last year, but still finished as a fantasy relevant player in deeper leagues. He looks flat and awful to start the year and many might jump ship. No fault in dropping him at this point, but remember it is the first week of a very long season. Cabrera is now 1-for-11 and has only touched base twice. Right now, Cabrera is hitting .091, but is a career .284 hitter. Consider Cabrera on the bubble and he deserves at least another full week of action before abandoning him.

Category: , Game Recaps

Melky Cabrera struggled in Spring Training and his struggles continue into the regular season. He could not get a hit on Tuesday and finished 0-for-3 with a walk. The White Sox will need Cabrera to contribute more if he continues to hit in the fifth spot of the lineup.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera is now 0-for-7 to start the season. He was hitting a measly .220 in Spring Training and his 2015 woes look to be sticking around. Until Cabrera starts putting hits together, he should remain on benches or even free agency.

The White Sox won 4-3 over Oakland on Opening Day. Melky Cabrera's spring training woes carried over into the first game. He hit fifth in the lineup and went 0-for-4 from the plate.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera had a rough season last year and does not seem to be starting out better in 2016. However, he is a career .284 hitter who regularly sees double-digit HR. If possible, hold onto Cabrera and hope he can get back to hitting for average and OBP. If he continues to hit fifth or sixth in the White Sox lineup, he should have plenty of RBI opportunities.

Category: , Game Recaps

Cabrera had a solid 2015 with 12 HR, runs and RBI both in the 70's and a respectable batting average of .273.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera is part of an improving White Sox team in a hitter's ballpark. Zeile projects he will have mild improvements in runs and batting average while regressing in RBI and staying steady in HR. Cabrera does not have the ceiling of a player like Byron Buxton, but has a much higher floor. At a ECR of 217, he would make for a safe bench OF in many leagues.

Melky Cabrera hit the winning single in the 14th inning to propel the White Sox to a 8-7 victory over the Athletics. Melky finished the day going 4-for-8.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera after a slow start to 2015, has recovered nicely. Melky is now hitting .272 with 9 HR and 65 RBI.

During that span he is only hitting .167 with a .419 OPS. Right now he does not deserve any fantasy consideration.

Category: , Game Recaps

Cabrera has gone 1-for-13 with no walks, runs, or RBIs in his past 3 games.

Fantasy Impact: He has had some hot streaks and put up some decent counting stats but he is not elite or a shallow league option.

Melky Cabrera had a great day at the plate, however no one on the White Sox had timely hitting. They were shut out by Boston and lost 0-3. Cabrera went 3-for-4 including his 28th double on Wednesday. He was the most productive hitter for the White Sox that night.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera is worth playing now. He has slowly worked his way back from a horrible first half of the season. Cabrera now has 61 RBI and eight HR. He is batting .275 with a .705 OPS; close to his career averages. He is an excellent option in DFS leagues too. He does not break the bank and gives you production while allowing you to spend money on other positions.

Category: , Game Recaps

Melky Cabrera was hitting second in the lineup on Tuesday. He produced for the White Sox by going 2-for-4 with a RBI and run scored. His single in the seventh drove in a run before a Trayce Thompson double drove in Cabrera and the go-ahead run.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera has been a different hitter since the All-Star break, but has cooled off since tearing up the month of July. Since the break, Cabrera is hitting.291 with an .815 OPS. Melky Cabrera went 1-for-4 with a solo home run off of R.A. Dickey in the White Sox' 2-0 win over the Blue Jays on Thursday. Cabrera has now hit safely in eight straight games.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera seems to have figured things out at the plate in July, as he is now 11-for-29 this month. He's worth picking up in leagues where owners gave up on him and should be in mixed league lineups everywhere.

Category: , Game Recaps

Melky Cabrera went 1-for-3 on Wednesday night against the Blue Jays with a walk and a sacrifice fly. Cabrera has now hit safely in every game so far in July.

Fantasy Impact: Cabrera is 10-for-25 to start July and appears to be shaking off some of his early season rust. The uptick in production seems to be coinciding with Manager Robin Ventura moving Cabrera into the three spot in the lineup on June 30th. Hitting between Jose Abreu and a surging Avisail Garcia should be good for Cabrera's fantasy value.

Melky Cabrera went 3-for-4 on Sunday, including hitting his second home run of the year.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera has finally start to hit lately for the White Sox. After a painfully slow start to the season, Cabrera has seen his average creep up to .251. Keep a eye on Cabrera. If he can revert back to his old form, he could become a sneaky mid season add.

Category: , Game Recaps

Melky Cabrera for the first time in his career went 5-for-5, leading the White Sox to a 3-2 victory over the Rangers. The White Sox offense has under performed all year, so seeing Melky go 5-for-5 was a welcome sight.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera can not be owned at this point because of his major offensive struggles. He is now hitting .250 on the season, well below his career average. Keep Cabrera on your watch list though. He could be a nice add off the waiver wire if he heats up.

Category: , Game Recaps

Melky went 1-for-3 on Monday, which was half of the hits in the game for the White Sox.

Fantasy Impact: He has been fairly productive in the last four games as he is 6-for-14. He is far behind his pace from last year and should not be owned in shallow leagues. In deeper leagues, he is worth a stash as the last several seasons worth of stats suggest he might bounce back in the batting average department.

Category: , Game Recaps

Melky Cabrera parlayed a strong season last year into strong momentum headed into this season. However, his production has been down across the offensive board with his new team.

Fantasy Impact: Perhaps the most puzzling aspect of his slump is the low batting average. Since his breakout in 2011, his batting average had been an asset whether he was hitting for power or in a power outage. Owners should not dump him outside of shallow leagues but it is difficult to trust him in the starting lineup at the moment.

Melky Cabrera and the White Sox blanked the Astros on Sunday when they won 6-0. Cabrera helped the White Sox by hitting a double in the third inning. The double lead to a run scored when Conor Gillaspie hit a single later in the inning.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera is an interesting player. He is a true veteran. He has had a down season, but can have one of those games where you wish you had him in your lineup. Sunday was not a great day for Cabrera, but it was a good one. It seems that Cabrera's slugging percentage and power is not what it was last season. Without the power numbers, Cabrera is limited to being a stacking option or plug-and-play option when matchups are favorable. Cabrera and the White Sox hope their bats warm up with the June weather. If not, it will be along season for them and anyone who has to rely on anyone besides Jose Abreu and Avisail Garcia in their fantasy lineups.

Although the White Sox won on Wednesday, Melky Cabrera did little to contribute. He recorded one hit in five at-bats, but had no RBI or runs scored. He had opportunities, but did nothing with them. He stranded five men on base.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera is not having a great year. He has been up and down all season. Cabrera has a career OPS of .747, but only has an OPS of .565 in 2015. Most of the White Sox hitters are having a below average season. Unless something changes, Cabrera has little to no fantasy value in standard formats. He has some daily value if stacking or playing the matchups in daily leagues.

The White Sox scored nine runs on Tuesday, but fell short to Toronto in the bottom of the ninth inning. Melky Cabrera finished with a decent day at the plate. He went 2-for-5 with a RBI and a run scored.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera has not started out well this season. He has had some decent games to keep his stats up, but is batting below his career numbers. Right now Cabrera would not crack my lineup unless I was stacking the White Sox in daily leagues. With every regular batter, besides Avisail Garcia who is out with a knee injury, hitting below .300 at the moment, it is hard to stack the White Sox often. In standard leagues, Cabrera is nothing more than a bench player who can be used when the matchup is right.

Melky Cabrera and the White Sox struggled to score runs on Thursday. They went scoreless until the ninth inning. Cabrera did not help matters by leaving three men on base; none in scoring position. Cabrera went 1-for-4 with a strikeout.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera is not a guy who will light up the scoreboard every night. However, he can have some value when on a hot streak or playing against a weak pitcher. Cabrera has the most value in daily fantasy leagues when you are going to stack the White Sox. His position in the lineup gives him opportunities to score runs when he reaches base.

Melky Cabrera has been very successful over the last 10 games, but that came to an end Tuesday night. The White Sox struggled to get hits and Cabrera was one of them. He went 0-for-4 at the plate as the White Sox lose to the Indians.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera is serviceable, but not elite. Too often he disappears in games. He is a wily veteran who rarely has large hitting slumps, but is only a .285 career hitter. Cabrera can be used as a plug-and-play option during hot streaks or solid pitching matchups. He can also make for a daily fantasy stacking option when the White Sox face certain pitchers.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera had a productive weekend. He recorded five hits and five runs over the three day span. Cabrera has been streaky, but it seems that the White Sox are finally getting some timely hitting. Look to use Cabrera if the match-ups are good. He can make for a decent stack in daily lineups because he is typically the number three hitter.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera was on a little hitting slump. He had not recorded a hit over his previous three games. Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera has done nothing over the last two games. Combined he is 0-for-9 with one walk, no RBI, and no runs scored. His batting average dropped to .254. Note that Cabrera is a veteran and it is unlikely he will go into a major slump. Tuesday's match-up against Mike Fiers is a good one for any White Sox hitter. Fiers has an ERA of 5.46 and only one quality start all season. Cabrera could turn it around as quickly as Tuesday night.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera has been pretty consistent thus far this season. He is close to his career numbers, except in the slugging category. Cabrera should end up right around his career averages by seasons end. He is currently hitting .264 with a .314 OBP. Cabrera's slugging numbers should improve as the season continues. Cabrera is not elite, but can make for a decent play when the match-ups are right.

Fantasy Impact: Melky Cabrera would presumably slot into the two-hole for the Seattle Mariners. Cabrera is an all-around fantasy contributor, with a strong ability to make contact and hit for average, mixed with slightly above-average power. A full repeat of his 2014 batting line is well within reach. A potential move from The Roger Centre to Safeco Field could worry some, however, Melky did not display any split between home and away performance in 2014 (.807 OPS at home - .810 OPS on the road). With the recent addition of free-agent Nelson Cruz, along with last year's acquisitions, Austin Jackson and Robinson Cano, the top of the Mariner's lineup would be one of the best in the American League.
