Morabito was sent down to Triple-A in a corresponding move to Jared Young returning to the big league club. Morabito went 0-for-11 with nine strikeouts in his short stint with the Mets.
Nick Morabito will be called up by the Mets ahead of Tuesday's game against the Nationals.
Fantasy Impact
The young movement continues for the Mets. Morabito, a second-round draft pick from 2022, will head up to the majors next. The 23-year-old speedster has played 41 games for Triple-A Syracuse this season, slashing .253/.364/.390 with four homers and 14 steals across 175 plate appearances. Austin Slater will be designated for assignment to make room for Morabito.
Morabito hit .273/.348/.385 with six home runs and 48 stolen bases across 491 plate appearances at Double-A Binghamton in 2025, playing the entire season at that level. New York protected him from the Rule 5 Draft this winter by adding him to the 40-man roster.
Fantasy Impact
The Mets optioned Morabito to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday. The assignment represents his first experience at the Triple-A level to open the upcoming season.
