Nick Senzel (shoulder) is a “100 percent healthy.” said Reds’ manager David Bell.
Senzel had surgery in September to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder and is fully recovered from the injury. Prior to the shutdown, the 25-year-old was able to pick up some at-bats in the spring, and should be a full go for summer camp. Senzel slashed 256/.315/.427 with 12 home runs, 42 RBI, 55 runs and 14 stolen bases across 409 plate appearances in 2019. He should see everyday at-bats and is currently 61st among all outfielders in the latest expert consensus rankings.
Reds GM Dick Williams says Nick Senzel (shoulder) is doing well.
Senzel was being eased into action during Cactus League play as he recovered from his shoulder injury. It sounds as if he'll be healthy if/when the 2020 season gets underway this summer.
Nick Senzel has progressed well from his shoulder surgery in September, and will be ready to go on Opening Day.
Senzel is in an open competition for an outfield spot, though the universal DH certainly helps him out. While his ADP of 229 may seem like a bargain, monitor his power when spring training reopens. He is more known for his hit tool, but any sap to his power as a result of the injury would dampen his fantasy outlook.
Nick Senzel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two strikeouts in Monday's Cactus League game against the White Sox.
Senzel led off and served as the team's designated hitter in Monday's contest against the White Sox. He has been rehabbing his shoulder and has appeared in only three games so far in spring training. Senzel could be candidate to lead-off for a loaded Reds lineup, but will need to beat out Shogo Akiyama for that top spot. The 24-year old slashed .256/.315/.427 with 12 home runs, 42 RBI, 55 runs and 14 stolen bases across 409 plate appearances in 2019.
Nick Senzel (shoulder) is set to make his Cactus League debut this Thursday.
Senzel underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum last September. This will be his first game action since going under the knife. The 24-year-old is aiming to be ready for Opening Day. If he avoids any setbacks that should be attainable.
