Nick Senzel placed on COVID-19 IL

The Reds placed Nick Senzel on the COVID-19 IL on Wednesday. The team called up Albert Almora Jr. from Triple-A to take Senzel's spot on the roster.

Fantasy Impact

As is often the case, there's no word as to whether Senzel tested positive for COVID-19, but given that Joey Votto and Tyler Naquin are also on the IL, there's a good chance that he did. Senzel is batting just .192 this season and not helping fantasy managers in any event, but expect to be without him for at least a few days.

Nick Senzel caps off multi-hit effort against Padres with solo homer

Reds outfielder Nick Senzel went 2-for-3 with a single and solo homer against the Padres on Tuesday. He scored twice in the contest as Cincinnati defeated San Diego by a score of 9-6.

Fantasy Impact

Senzel is now slashing .206/.229/.353 with one homer, three RBI, one walk, and eight strikeouts this season. He's not a reliable fantasy starter, but his upside gives him some relevance as a bench option in deeper leagues.

Nick Senzel homers against Padres on Tuesday

Nick Senzel went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a solo home run on Tuesday against the Padres.

Fantasy Impact

The home run was Senzel's first of the season, as he's off to a slow start, slashing just .206/.229/.353. He has yet to barrel a ball this year and his quality of contact is low (even for him), so it's good to see him knock a ball over the wall. When at his best, Senzel has 20-15 potential, and the Reds have every incentive to see what he can do. So long as he's healthy, he's worth starting in mixed leagues.

Nick Senzel walks in loss to Padres

Reds oufielder Nick Senzel finished 0-for-3 with a walk and strikeout against the Padres on Wednesday evening. Cincinnati ultimately fell to San Diego by a score of 6-0.

Fantasy Impact

Senzel is now just 2-for-21 with a walk and four strikeouts this season. Between his poor batting line, lack of poor, and unintriguing baserunning abilities, the 26-year-old belongs on waivers in most leagues.
