Reds manager David Bell confirmed Thursday that Nick Senzel will open the year as the team's everyday center fielder.
Fantasy Impact
"We know the talent. We know the ability," Bell told reporters. "We're all excited to see Nick play over the course of a long season." Senzel has battled injuries throughout his brief big league career but is fully healthy entering 2021. The former top prospect makes sense as a late-round flyer in fantasy drafts this spring.
Nick Senzel is leading off and playing center field in Game 1 of the Wild Card Round against the Braves.
Fantasy Impact
The former top prospet had a disappointing year for Cincinnati, hitting .186 with a .604 OPS in 23 games. He gets the start versus the lefty Max Fried, however. This game kicks off a little after 12:00 PM EST on Wednesday.
Nick Senzel went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's 7-2 win over the Twins.
Fantasy Impact
Senzel has been coming off the bench recently for the Reds and has been splitting CF duties with Brian Goodwin. He has struggled with injuries most of 2020, slashing .194/.257/.373 with two home runs, eight RBI and eight runs over 74 plate appearances in 2020.
Nick Senzel was out of the lineup in Friday’s 7-1 win over the White Sox.
Fantasy Impact
Senzel has only appeared in the starting lineup twice since returning from the injured list Monday. He is 0-for-6 during that span. Senzel will continue to split CF duties with Brian Goodwin.
The Reds activated Nick Senzel (undisclosed) off the IL.
Fantasy Impact
Senzel is hitting seventh and playing center field in the first game of Monday's doubleheader. He has played in just 14 games this season, batting .244 with two homers, two steals, and an .816 OPS.
