Ryan Cook gave up two runs on two hits while striking out one batter over 2/3 innings to get the loss against the Yankees on Wednesday.
Cook started off the ninth strong by getting Aaron hicks to groundout and striking out Aaron Judge. After giving up a single to Didi Gregorius, Giancarlo Stanton hit a 453-foot blast off of a hanging slider. Over his last six appearances, Cook has allowed seven earned runs over 4 2/3 innings to bump his season ERA up to 6.75. Even since he took a tumble down the stairs at Minute Maid Park on June 5, Cook has struggled to keep command of his pitches.

Cook has yet to give up a run over five appearances since being brought up by the Mariners on May 17. Though he hasn't pitched in the majors since 2015, the 30-year-old posted a 2.03 ERA and 17 strikeouts over 13 1/3 innings for Tacoma this year. No doubt he will be looking to keep up his shutout performance to try to stay a part of Seattle's eight-man bullpen.

After relieving Wade LeBlanc with one out in the sixth, Cook struck out Mahtook before Jose Iglesias doubled to left. A great relay from the Seattle defense threw out McCann at home, preserving Cook's clean earned run record this season. Over two appearances in the last three games, Cook has allowed one hit and struck out two over two innings.
Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports that the Red Sox have acquired Ryan Cook from the Athletics.
Ryan Cook has spent most of the season at Triple A and has a 4.05 ERA. He has spent time as the Athletics closer in the past and made the 2012 All Star game. Cook will bring depth to Boston's bullpen but has no fantasy value at this time.
Ryan Cook was unable to keep the Angels off the scoreboard while working in relief on Wednesday. Cook lasted just one-third of an inning, giving up three earned runs and taking the loss. He is now 0-1 with a 20.25 ERA.
This was just Cook's second appearance of 2015, but it did not go well. He faced four batters, allowing three of them to reach base. He is not a fantasy option in any format.
