Aldegheri allowed a home run to Taylor Ward to lead off the game and then surrendered a three-run shot to Coby Mayo in the fourth. The lefthander walked one and struck out three in suffering his third loss of the season. In his last two outings, Aldegheri has given up 11 runs on 11 hits - three of which were home runs - in just 7.2 innings and now has a 7.56 ERA in four starts as opposed to a 1.13 ERA in three relief appearances. Should he stick in the rotation, his next outing is scheduled for Sunday against the Athletics.

The big blow against Aldegheri came in the second inning when Corbin Carroll belted a grand slam to break the game open. It was his third start of the season and it marked the first time this year he allowed more than two runs in any appearance. The lefthander has now pitched to a 6.75 ERA with a 5:8 K:BB ratio in 12 innings over his three starts while, as a reliever, he has a 1.13 ERA with an 8:3 K:BB ratio in eight frames. Should he get another shot in the rotation, Aldegheri would get the Orioles, at home, on Monday.
