The 24-year-old lefty has limped to a 10.80 ERA in three starts, posting an 11-10 K/BB ratio across 13 1/3 innings. Still, the Angels will give him his first shot in the show, as he is expected to join the club ahead of Tuesday's game at Yankee Stadium.
Sam Aldegheri will start for Team Italy in the quarterfinals of the World Baseball Classic on Saturday against Puerto Rico.
