Johnston has heated up of late, recording hits in six of his last eight contests. The 29-year-old has offered manager Warren Schaeffer one of the more stable options when in an underperforming Rockies lineup, batting .285 with four home runs, 47 RBI, 37 runs scored, and four stolen bases across 109 games.

Johnston doesn't offer much in the way of power or speed, but there aren't too many players with a higher average this season making him a solid fantasy option for leagues that reward batting average. He probably should be owned in more than 10% of leagues at this point in the season.

Johnston is tied for fourth in the National League with 15 doubles and ranks fifth in the NL with a .310 batting average on the year. His average has dipped slightly over the last couple of weeks despite hitting safely in 11 of his last 13 games. Johnston doesn't offer much in the way of power or speed, but he will likely continue to hit for a high average in his first season in Colorado.

He ranks third in the National League with a .323 batting average, trailing Miami's Otto Lopez (.340) and San Francisco's Luis Arraez by percentage points. While his batting average is great, he's not a must-own fantasy player due to his lack of power (two home runs) and speed (two stolen bases). But, if your league rewards batting average, he is currently fourth in all of baseball in that category.
