Troy Johnston homers, drives in four during Sunday win

Troy Johnston went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, three runs scored, and four runs batted in during Colorado's 23-9 win over the Athletics on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

Johnston just continues to rake for the Rockies as he now ranks fifth in the National League with a .317 batting average on the season. His two-run shot in the fourth was just his third home run of the season, but he also ripped his 21st double of the year which ties him for the National League lead in that category. Johnston doesn't offer much in the way of power or speed, but there aren't too many players with a higher average this season making him a solid fantasy option for leagues that reward batting average. He probably should be owned in more than 10% of leagues at this point in the season.

Troy Johnston has two hits, steal in loss to Giants Sunday

Troy Johnston went 2-for-5 with a run scored, an RBI, and a stolen base during the Rockies' loss to the Giants on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

Johnston doubled and stole third against Robbie Ray in the third and then laced an RBI single and came in to score in the fifth against Tristan Beck. Johnston is tied for fourth in the National League with 15 doubles and ranks fifth in the NL with a .310 batting average on the year. His average has dipped slightly over the last couple of weeks despite hitting safely in 11 of his last 13 games. Johnston doesn't offer much in the way of power or speed, but he will likely continue to hit for a high average in his first season in Colorado.

Troy Johnston has two hits, stolen base Saturday

Troy Johnston had a pair of singles and a walk in four plate appearances on Saturday during Colorado's 5-4 loss to Arizona. He also stole his second base of the season.

Fantasy Impact

Johnston continues to just hit for the Rockies as he has failed to record a hit just three times in May where he has had multiple at bats. He ranks third in the National League with a .323 batting average, trailing Miami's Otto Lopez (.340) and San Francisco's Luis Arraez by percentage points. While his batting average is great, he's not a must-own fantasy player due to his lack of power (two home runs) and speed (two stolen bases). But, if your league rewards batting average, he is currently fourth in all of baseball in that category.

Troy Johnston has three more hits Thursday

Troy Johnston went 3-for-4 with a walk and a pair of runs batted in on Thursday as the Rockies dropped a 10-8 decision to the Padres.

Fantasy Impact

He has now hit safely in five of his last six games, recording a pair of three-hit games during that stretch. Over the last six games, he is 10-for-22 (.455) with four runs batted in. Johnston ranks fourth in the National League with a .325 batting average while contributing two home runs, 12 RBI, and an OPS of .862.

Troy Johnston doubles twice in Rockies' win Saturday

Troy Johnston went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two RBI, a stolen base, and a run scored to lead the Rockies to a 4-3 win over the Dodgers on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

Johnston entered on a 2-for-17 skid over his previous six games before his three-hit performance on Saturday. His second double of the game, off of Will Klein in the bottom of the sixth, brought home a pair of runs and gave the Rockies the lead for good. Johnston also nabbed his first stolen base of the year after a single to lead off the bottom of the second. Johnston is having a nice start to the season, batting .305 (18-for-59) with five doubles, two home runs, and 10 runs batted in while being penciled into the starting lineup nearly every day.
