Tony Gonsolin gets no-decision in Game 6 victory
Tony Gonsolin was handed a no-decision on Tuesday when he allowed one run on three hits with four strikeouts and two walks over 1 2/3 innings in the Dodgers 3-1 win over the Rays in Game 6 to win the World Series.
Despite the fact manager Dave Roberts said that Gonsolin would be used as a starter as opposed to an opener, the right-hander had a very short leash. After giving up a solo shot to Randy Arozarena in the first inning, he worked his way around a single and a walk to end the threat. He then gave up a double and another walk in the second before being replaced by Dylan Floro. The Dodgers pen took care of business from there, though, as the Rays were blanked the rest of the game. The Dodgers are now World Champions for the first time since 1988.
