Lucas Erceg has converted all five save opportunities for Kansas City and could retain the closer role even after Estevez returns. The Royals want Estevez not only healthy but back to his previous velocity, and he may remain on a rehab assignment until he finds his groove.
Fantasy Impact
Estevez resumed throwing off a mound last week while recovering from a left foot contusion and could be pitching in rehab games before the end of this week. President of baseball operations J.J. Picollo said Tuesday he is hopeful Estevez will begin a Triple-A Omaha rehab assignment within the next five days.
