Anderson was thrust into action on Wednesday after Tigers starter Casey Mize left the game after four innings with a groin injury. Anderson dominated the Angels through three perfect frames with three strikeouts in the process, earning his second win of the season. Anderson has been excellent of late, posting a 1.37 ERA across 19 2/3 innings in the month of May, and hasn't allowed a run in eight of his last nine appearances, all but one of which lasted more than an inning. The Tigers' Swiss Army knife owns a 3.44 ERA through 18 outings and 36 2/3 innings on the season, and his 3.07 FIP and 3.05 SIERA suggest he has been even better than his surface ERA indicates.
