Pierce Johnson is heading to free agency after Atlanta declined his $7 million club option for the 2026 season on Thursday. The 34-year-old right-hander will now be able to negotiate with all teams.
Fantasy Impact
The decision to decline the option was somewhat surprising, as Johnson has posted a 2.91 ERA with a 158:49 K:BB over 139 innings during his last two-and-a-half seasons in Atlanta. He is expected to draw plenty of interest as a free agent.
