The Rays have placed left-hander Steven Matz on the 15-day injured list with a left ankle sprain.
Fantasy Impact
Matz's last five outings have come out of the Rays' bullpen, but he was shelled for five earned runs in two innings against the Royals on Monday before being placed on the IL on Wednesday. The veteran has limped to a 6.28 ERA across 15 outings (10 starts) this season. Right-hander Michael Grove was recalled from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move.
