Tyler Rogers secures third save of the season on Sunday
Tyler Rogers worked a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday, whiffing two en route to picking up his third save of the season in the Giants 4-2 win over the D-backs.
There was no drama in this one as Rogers whiffed the first two batters he faced in Jake Lamb and Jon Jay, respectively, before getting Daulton Varsho to ground out to end the game. Rogers still seems to be the preferred closer option in SF but his numbers are far from special. He's 3-for-5 on save opportunities with a 1-3 record to go along with a 6.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and a 21:5 K/BB ratio over 21 innings pitched. Despite those shaky numbers he still retains fantasy value if he's getting save chances down the stretch.
