Kevin Porter Jr. expected to be traded or released after outburst

Kevin Porter is expected to be traded or released from the Cavaliers following his outburst in the team's locker room in response to his locker being given away to recently acquired Taurean Prince. It is said that Porter remained combative towards Koby Altman, the team's general manager and that he even began throwing food. (Joe Vardon on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Porter's perceived lack of maturity was a primary reason for his fall in the 2019 NBA Draft, and it looks like it will be the very thing that will result in his “fall” out of the league if he isn’t able to right the ship. In his first season, Porter averaged 23.2 minutes of playing time, 10.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game while shooting 44.2 percent from the floor and 33.5 percent from beyond the arc. After an encouraging rookie campaign, it was clear that he had the talent that could advance the long-term vision of a rebuilding Cavaliers team; however, now it isn't clear if he has the right character to be a part of that vision. We will have to see where things stand once the dust has settled on his latest incident for fantasy purposes. However, if you have the roster space in season-long deep-league play, it could be worth picking him up, as players have overcome their setbacks and go on to reach success. Let's hope this is the case with Porter; I mean, he is only 20 years old and has a lot more growing to do. Should he be traded or released, look for Cedi Osman to step-up as a promising contributor in the team's front-court.
