Mikal Bridges totaled 20 points (6-12 FG, 0-2 3PT, 8-9 FT), six rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the Nets’ 114-113 loss to the Cavaliers.

Fantasy Impact:

Bridges scored 20.0 points in the Nets’ loss to the Cavaliers, posting a solid stat line which featured three steals. His move to the Nets proved to be significantly beneficial to his career, as he wasted no time asserting himself as the primary offensive weapon on his new team. After averaging nothing higher than 18.0 points a game in any of his previous five seasons, he posted and sustained an incredible 26.1 point average when joining the other team in the Empire State. To go along with his scoring boom, he averaged a respectable 34.2 minutes of playing time, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the floor and 37.6 percent from beyond the arc. Bridges will have his nights where he is firing on all cylinders and contributing in a variety of ways like he did in this contest, however, there will be many nights where his scoring prowess will be the primary catalyst for his produced value. His heavy offensive usage does a good job of buffering his floor, however, he could be more match-up dependent than one would think. He is a borderline must-start fantasy play in all formats, but do be sure to evaluate his and your opponents to ensure you are maximizing the strengths he is most likely to feature in the contest.
