Paolo Banchero agrees to rookie max extension with Magic

Paolo Banchero has agreed to a five-year maximum rookie contract extension with the Orlando Magic, worth up to $287 million. (Shams Charania on Twitter)

Banchero, the 2022-23 Rookie of the Year and a 2023-24 All-Star, is now locked in with the Magic long term. Despite being limited to 46 games last season, he showcased his upside by averaging 25.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. He’ll aim to lead Orlando to its first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since the 2009-10 season.
