Beal scrimmaged for the first time last week and is expected to make his Los Angeles Clippers debut on Friday. He’s confirmed to be the team’s starting shooting guard this season. Since he’ll play in only one preseason game before the regular season begins, he could open the year on a minutes restriction as the team eases him back into action.
