Yi Jianlian asked to be released by Lakers

Yi Jianlian has asked the Lakers to release him and the Lakers plan to do so sometime today. This was Jianlian's second chance at making it in the NBA after a solid showing at the Olympics. With Yi moving on, Thomas Robinson will likely make the team. (Marc Stein on Twitter)
