Boris Diaw retires from the NBA

Boris Diaw announced his retirement on Twitter after 14 seasons in the NBA including stints with the Hawks, Suns, Hornets, Spurs, and Jazz. Diaw won one NBA title with the Spurs plus a Most Improved Player Award back in 2006. Diaw was durable in his tenure in the NBA playing at least 73 games in all but two seasons which he played 57 and 66 respectively.

Fantasy Impact

Diaw is probably not a Hall of Famer but he certainly opened the door for French players in the NBA. Diaw was the MVP for France back in 2004 and will go down as one of the best French players to ever play in the NBA. In his prime, he was a late-round draft pick in fantasy.

Boris Diaw will be waived by Jazz

Boris Diaw will be waived by the Jazz before July 15th or his $7.5 million will be guaranteed. The move makes sense after the team signed Ekpe Udoh, Jonas Jerebko, and Thabo Sefolosha this week. Diaw will look to sign on with another contender.

Fantasy Impact

Diaw isn't a fantasy option anymore but is a solid veteran presence and role player for a contender. Diaw could return to San Antonio on the veteran's minimum.

Boris Diaw scores 10 points for the Jazz on Sunday

Boris Diaw scored 10 points on 67 percent shooting from the field during Utah's 104-91 win over the Clippers in the deciding Game 7 of their series. Diaw recorded three assists, two rebounds, a block and a steal in his 17 minutes of action.

Fantasy Impact

Diaw was one of two Jazz big men to start yet play less than 20 minutes during Sunday's series-clinching win for Utah, so Diaw will look to make a bigger impact for the Jazz in their upcoming series against the Warriors.

Boris Diaw will start on Saturday while Favors will come off the bench

Derrick Favors is set to return to the lineup but will come off the bench with Boris Diaw joining the starting five. Diaw will be joined by George Hill, Joe Ingles, Gordon Hayward and Rudy Gobert.

Fantasy Impact

This news should sway fantasy owners from starting Favors in DFS formats. Continue to roll with Hill, Hayward and Gobert with confidence.

Boris Diaw leads Utah Jazz with season-high eight assists Wednesday

Boris Diaw played for 23 minutes, but only scored four points on three shots. He registered three rebounds, one steal, and one block, while also leading the team in +/- differential.

Fantasy Impact

Diaw's eight assists were a high water mark, while also getting his only block of the season. Unfortunately, Diaw's scoring ceiling and floor are low, so temper expectations. He is best utilized as a budget play in DFS, as his usage from game to game can be unpredictable.
