F - ATL
Bruno Fernando went for two points (1-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt), six rebounds and three assists over 23 minutes in the Hawks’ 127-88 loss to the Grizzlies on Monday.
Fernando drew the start at center Monday, joining the first unit thanks to Cam Reddish's absence. It was an uneventful game for the rookie, and he averaged just 5.1 points and 5.2 boards across 16.1 minutes in 12 prior starts. Even with extra opportunities, Fernando is not on the radar in redraft formats.
Hawks Coach Lloyd Pierce told reporters that Bruno Fernando would enter into the starting lineup if Cam Reddish (back) can’t go on Monday night.
With Reddish listed as doubtful, it seems likely that Fernando, the Maryland product, will start on Monday night vs. Memphis. Fernando has actually played quite well of late, averaging 10 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes in his last four games. He’s probably not rosterable in anything other than a super-deep league at this point, but he makes for an intriguing option in DFS tonight.
Bruno Fernando provided 10 points (5-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), nine rebounds, one assist and one steal across 22 minutes in Wednesday's 130-120 loss to the Magic.
Fernando started for the first time since January 26th, and was one rebound shy of posting a double-double. He has now scored double figures in back-to-back contests. With Clint Capela weeks away from returning, Fernando should see an expanded role in Atlanta's rotation. The 21-year old is worth adding in deep-league formats and could even see a bigger role in the offense if Dewayne Dedmon (elbow) remains sidelined. The Hawks next scheduled game is Friday, home against the Nets.
Bruno Fernando (calf) is listed as doubtful for Monday's game against the Celtics.
Fernando was downgraded from questionable to doubtful after Monday's shoot around. An official status should be updated closed to tip-off. If Fernando is ruled out, look for Damian Jones and Treveon Graham to see an uptick in minutes.
Bruno Fernando (calf) will not play in Thursday’s game against the 76ers.
As expected, Fernando will miss his third straight game due to a left calf strain. With Alex Len out as well, look for John Collins to draw the start at center. Damian Jones should also see an increased role. Fernando’s next chance to return will be Saturday’s tilt against the Mavericks.
