Celtics C Daniel Theis (foot) will not suit up for Thursday's contest against the Washington Wizards.
This is presumably good information for Thomas Bryant's outlook in DFS on Thursday. Expect Enes Kanter and Robert Williams III to get Theis' minutes against the Wizards. Theis will continue to rehab his sore right foot before the playoffs commence.
Daniel Theis contributed two points and three rebounds in 19 minutes against Memphis on Tuesday night.
It was the first bubble game where Theis did not log at least 20 minutes. Following an overtime win on Sunday, playing time was spread more evenly for the Celtics as it was an opportunity for Brad Stevens to rest his regulars playing with a double-digit lead for much of the game. Theis will look to bounce back against Washington on Thursday.
Daniel Theis contributed six points (3-4 FG), seven rebounds, and three blocked shots in 30 minutes in Sunday's overtime win against the Magic.
Theis has established himself as the leading big man for the Celtics. He has seen the floor significantly more than Robert Williams III and Enes Kanter since the restart. This trend should continue against Memphis on Tuesday, as Theis plays great defense and has been making solid contributions in the scoring and rebounding categories.
Daniel Theis scored 11 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in 28 minutes against the Toronto Raptors Friday night.
Theis recorded his second double-double since the restart. Each performance came against the Bucks and the Raptors, the two best teams in the Eastern Conference. Theis has proven to be a consistent force in the bubble and has led the Celtics interior players in minutes over the last five games.
Daniel Theis scored 10 points (4-8 FG) and collected six rebounds in 21 minutes in a win over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.
Theis's production has been consistent in the restart games so far in Orlando. He will take on the challenge of an accomplished Toronto Raptors team on Friday that includes Pascal Siakam, Serge Ibaka, and Marc Gasol in the front court.
