Deandre Ayton agrees to stay in Phoenix

Suns C DeAndre Ayton agreed to and signed a $133 million offer sheet from the Indiana Pacers. However, as was expected, the Suns matched almost immediately, and Ayton will stay in Phoenix.

Fantasy Impact

Ayton will continue his role as one of the Suns young stars. After falling short in an upset loss against the Mavericks in the playoffs, Phoenix is gearing up for another potential Finals run with Ayton, Chris Paul, and Devin Booker. Expect Ayton to continue giving you strong fantasy performances throughout next season.

Deandre Ayton sign-and-trade deal close with Indiana Pacers

Deandre Ayton is not able to be signed outright by the Pacers due to current salary cap restrictions, so as reported by Evan Sidery on twitter, the only way this deal gets done is via a sign-and-trade deal that would send Myles Turner to the Suns in exchange for Ayton.

Fantasy Impact

The Indiana Pacers currently have 26.2$ million in cap space which is not nearly enough to sign Ayton outright as the Suns would be able to match that offer sheet quite easily. The only way this deal gets done with Indiana is if a sing-and-trade can be agreed upon that would see Myles turner don the Suns jersey for the 2022 season. As for fantasy if this deal is finalized it would likely see Myles Turner's stock increase as he would be surrounded by an abundance of playmakers making it easy to be the defensive center he is and to finish at the net, as for Ayton it would see his stock likely stay the same as he would see more usage in Indiana but then would also be playing on a far worse team. One could then speculate that Indiana may be up for a trade for Westbrook as reported as they would then have a big to pair with the veteran PG to make a run for a championship rather then enter another rebuild.

Deandre Ayton drawing interest from Jazz

The Utah Jazz are interested in exploring potential trade options for Suns center Deandre Ayton.

Fantasy Impact

Ayton has been the subject of many rumors this off-season, ranging from him staying on the Suns to being traded to another team. Now, following the Rudy Gobert trade, it seems like the Jazz are interested in Ayton. Nothing is imminent, but if he did join the Jazz, he would instantly be both the starter and a very intriguing option. This is a situation worth monitoring for fantasy managers.

Deandre Ayton drawing 'no interest' from the Nets

According to John Gambadoro, the Nets are not interested in Deandre Ayton ahead of a potential Kevin Durant trade.

Fantasy Impact

With Kevin Durant requesting a trade out of Brooklyn and Ayton being unhappy with the front office and coaching staff in Pheonix, bettors quickly hit the market on Thursday rising Ayton's odds to be a Net in 2022 to -220. The potential swap of these two stars (plus other assets) makes for a compelling case for the Nets as they look to head into a rebuild in 2022. However, reports dropped out of Brooklyn that the team has "no interest" in adding Ayton.

Deandre Ayton drawing less interest from Pistons post Jalen Duran trade

According to James Edwards, the Pistons are "less likely" to pursue impending free agent Deandre Ayton after trading for Jalen Duren.

Fantasy Impact

After a busy draft night that saw the Pistons trade for Jalen Duren but acquires the salary of Kemba Walker, the team is now "less likely" to pursue Suns center Deandre Ayton. After a rough season and several rumors of Ayton creating waves with the front office and coaching staff, experts have speculated that the veteran is more than likely to head to a new spot this offseason. The Pistons were the heavy favorites amongst reports and the betting market but have since cooled off leaving the Hornets and Spurs as the new favorites to land the big man.
