DeAndre Jordan tests positive for Coronavirus, and will not be joining the Nets in Orlando for the restart.
Jordan becomes the latest memberof the Nets to test positive for COVID-19 and has decided to sit out the restart in Orlando. "Found out last night and confirmed again today that I’ve tested positive for Covid while being back in market. As a result of this, I will not be in Orlando for the resumption of the season," said Jordan. He will finish the 2019-2020 campaign, averaging 8.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.9 blocks across 56 games. Look for Jarrett Allen to see additional minutes and increased role with Jordan sidelined. The 31-year-old center will look to fully recover and prepare for the 2020-2021 season.
DeAndre Jordan rewarded new coach Jacque Vaughn confidence in him by providing 11 points (4-5 FG, 3-4 FT), 15 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks across 29 minutes in the Nets 110-107 win over the Bulls on Sunday.
If Jordan continues getting starts, he will be a must start going forward in season long leagues and DFS.
DeAndre Jordan scored 11 points (4-5 FG, 3-4 FT) with 15 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in 28 minutes in Sunday's 110-107 win over the Bulls.
DJ got the starting nod tonight in place of Jarrett Allen. Interim head coach Jacque Vaughn wanted to change things up a bit, and it paid off for the Nets and for Jordan's fantasy owners today. Jordan was a +12 tonight in the +/- column, so his presence was surely felt as a starter. Being as he found success on Sunday, he's likely to stick as the starter for games to come. Jarrett Allen owners don't need to necessarily panic, as he still saw 19 minutes today, going for 11 points and six boards, he just may not see as many minutes as he did as a starter.
DeAndre Jordan will start at Center on Sunday over Jarrett Allen.
In Jacque Vaughn’s first game as Nets interim head coach, he’ll make a change to the starting lineup and go with Jordan at the five. DJ should get the opportunity for more minutes, which really boosts his fantasy appeal. He’s been averaging 8.3 points and 9.9 rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench for Brooklyn this year, but maybe he can push for 25+ minutes with the starters today against the Bulls. He makes for a solid DFS play with this news breaking today after his salary was set last night, and Jarrett Allen probably comes down a peg as well. Allen is still very much rosterable, but he might see fewer minutes going forward if DJ sticks in Coach Vaughn’s starting lineup.
DeAndre Jordan provided 13 points (5-10 FG, 2-4 FT) , 10 rebounds, and one assist over 23 minutes as the Nets beat the Spurs 139-120 on Friday.
Jordan scored in double figures for the first time in five games. He has been inconsistent with his scoring, while averaging 9.9 rebounds for the season. The center is a good player to have for rebound needy teams as he can sway the rebound category on any given night.
