Harry Giles III 'best opportunity will likely come with another team'

Jason Jones of the Athletic believes Harry Giles III's "best opportunity will likely come with another team."

Fantasy Impact

"Marvin Bagley will be the starting power forward with Richaun Holmes at center. Nemanja Bjelica will be in the rotation and Bagley will play minutes at center, too," Jones said. With a loaded front-court, it doesn't leave many minutes to go around in the rotation. "I’m not sure how the Kings sell him (Giles) on returning if there is a team willing to give him a bigger role," Jones added. Before the season was suspended due to the corona-virus pandemic, the 22-year-old center did flash some upside. Giles averaged 10.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists while shooting 58.2 percent from the floor in his last 10 games. A change of scenery would only help Giles fantasy value.

Harry Giles III gets the start and scores 10

Harry Giles III recorded 10 points (5-8 FG), two rebounds, one assist, and one steal over 15 minutes in Thursday's 125-108 loss to the 76er's.

Fantasy Impact

Giles III has been given his fair share of opportunity since Richaun Holmes has been injured and the Kings traded away Dewayne Dedmon, but that should come to an end this weekend when Holmes returns. Giles has had some solid production lately, scoring double digits in seven straight contests, including his first career double-double on January 22nd. Since Holmes suffered his injury on January 6th, Giles has averaged 8.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.4 blocks over 17.5 minutes. Compare that to the 4.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.3 blocks over 10.6 minutes he was averaging prior to Holmes's injury and it's clear that his value will disappear soon.

Harry Giles III puts up solid line in win Tuesday

Harry Giles III supplied 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, one assist, and two steals over 26 minutes of play Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact

Giles has put up double-digit points in six-straight games and has been a solid contributor in the Kings frontcourt. That should continue until Marvin Bagley and Richaun Holmes are able to return from their respective injuries.

Harry Giles III goes 12 & 7 in Sunday's win

Harry Giles III managed 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, one steal and a block across 20 minutes in the Kings’ 106-100 win over the Pistons on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

Giles III has played well since entering the starting lineup, and his recent stretch of play has been even better. He's now registered double-digit points in five straight games while averaging 15.7 points and 6.7 boards over his last three. With Richaun Holmes and Marvin Bagley III on the shelf indefinitely, Giles III should have a secure role moving forward.

Harry Giles III scores season-high 19 points in Thursday's loss

Harry Giles III went for 19 points (7-11 FG, 5-5 FT), eight rebounds and an assist over 24 minutes in the Kings’ 112-108 loss to the Thunder on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact

Giles III has taken full advantage of his additional run with the starting unit, making the case for a pickup in 12-team leagues while providing solid value in daily formats. He’s likely to retain the Kings’ starting center role as long as Richaun Holmes remains out.
