Isaiah Canaan headed to China

Isaiah Canaan has agreed to a contract with the Shandong Heroes of the CBA. He spent last season playing with Minnesota, Phoenix, and Milwaukee.

Fantasy Impact

Canaan will be able to make a return to the NBA once the CBA season comes to an end. It is certainly possible that he reaches a deal with a team to play as a reserve, but he wouldn't be worth using in fantasy.

Isaiah Canaan drops 12 points in loss to New Orleans

Isaiah Canaan finished with 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting (2-of-4 from deep), and had five assists, two rebounds, and two steals while logging 31 minutes in Minnesota's 117-122 loss to New Orleans on Friday night.

Fantasy Impact

With all the backcourt injuries Minnesota has suffered, they brought in Canaan to fill in temporarily, and while he has played a fair amount of minutes, he holds virtually no fantasy value, especially now that Jeff Teague has returned, and Tyus Jones and Derrick Rose should be ready to return in the near future.

Isaiah Canaan will make Wolves debut tonight against the Grizzlies

Isaiah Canaan will make his debut tonight against Memphis according to coach Ryan Saunders.

Fantasy Impact

Canaan was just signed by the Wolves to a 10-day contract to fill-in for the injuries to Derrick Rose (ankle), Jeff Teague (foot), and Tyus Jones (ankle). We will monitor the situation, but for now, he will play behind Jerryd Bayless and isn't worth an add.

Isaiah Canaan will join the Timberwolves

Isaiah Canaan and the Timberwolves agreed to a 10-day contract.

Fantasy Impact

Canaan is worth a look in deeper leagues as he showed promise with the Suns over the past year in fantasy and injury issues for Jeff Teague, Tyus Jones, and Derrick Rose. It's a downgrade for Jerryd Bayless moving forward.

Isaiah Canaan to be released

Isaiah Canaan will be released by the Phoenix Suns per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Fantasy Impact

Canaan hasn't been great lately but this still comes a surprise as he's started 75 percent of the Suns' games this year. Evidently the Suns are happy with Devin Booker at the point. Meanwhile Mikal Bridges is now locked in as a starter and will hopefully start to play better without worrying about his minutes. Go and scoop the rookie up if you can.
