Jason Kidd is out as coach of the Dallas Mavericks.
Fantasy Impact
Kidd has spent the past five seasons with the Mavericks, including a run to the NBA Finals. He totaled a 205-205 overall record in Dallas. New Mavericks president Masai Ujiri is making the coaching change.
John Poulakidas poured in a career-high 28 points (9-18 FG, 8-16 3PT, 2-3 FT) as the Mavericks defeated the Bulls, 149-128, on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Poulakidas hit a career-high eight triples en route to a career-best 28 points on Sunday. The undrafted rookie out of Yale reached double figures in scoring in five of his 13 games this season. He averaged 21.0 points while hitting 17 of his 34 three-point attempts over his last three games. Poulakidas may have played himself into more minutes heading into next season.
Poulakidas reached 20 points for the first time in his career Wednesday — just his 11th NBA appearance — finishing with 23 points (8-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), five three-pointers, one block, one rebound, and one assist to lead all players in made threes against the Suns.
Fantasy Impact
Going 8-of-12 from the field with five made threes in a career-best performance is worth noting, though his role going forward will depend on the health of Dallas's injured wings heading into the final games of the regular season.
