The Pelicans have been without Alvarado for several weeks due to an oblique injury, and he will miss another game on Friday for the same reason. He is reportedly very close to a return to the lineup, however, so he may be back in time for New Orleans' matchup against the Spurs on Sunday.
Jose Alvarado said on Thursday that he is “super close” to returning and is hopeful to come back during the New Orleans Pelicans’ road trip, which begins January 23 and ends February 6.
