Josh Okogie has agreed to a 2-year, $12 million contract with the Utah Jazz.
Fantasy Impact
Okogie is now heading into his ninth NBA season after spending last year with the Houston Rockets. The veteran shot 38.5% from three-point land in Houston and will look to be a solid wing option off the bench for a new-look Utah squad.
Josh Okogie scored 10 points (3-6 FG, 3-5 3P, 1-2 FT) with 10 rebounds, an assist, and a block in the Rockets’ 104-86 win over the Hawks.
Fantasy Impact
Okogie had himself a nice night against the Hawks, achieving his first double-double of the season. Despite that, his floor remains very low, as it was also the first time this month that he has crossed into double-digit points. He’s best left on waivers.
Josh Okogie finished with 10 points (4-5 FG), one rebound, two assists, and two three-pointers during Wednesday's 139-121 win over the Raptors. He played 24 minutes as a starter and committed one turnover.
Fantasy Impact
Rockets head coach Ime Udoka recently praised Okogie, noting "He knows his role... He brings the physicality and aggressiveness on the defensive side of the ball." Udoka also stated Okogie "knows how to play off other guys." The Rockets have won two straight games since Okogie was moved into the starting lineup, and he appears "locked in" to that role for now.
Josh Okogie has agreed to a one-year, $3.1 million deal with the Houston Rockets.
Fantasy Impact
Okogie gives the Rockets some help on defense and he has some upside on offense when called upon. Given their talent and depth on that side of the court, however, Okogie likely won’t be needed in that capacity. He will be a depth option primarily and likely unusable for fantasy unless the Rockets are resting multiple starters.
The Hornets waived Josh Okogie.
Fantasy Impact
Okogie was traded to Charlotte back in January. He shouldn't have much of an issue finding an opportunity with another team.
