C - POR - OUT
Trail Blazers C Jusuf Nurkic will be shut down for the remainder of the season according to ESPN Senior NBA Writer Marc J. Spears.
Nurkic has been dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot and has not played since February 16. Portland has finally decided to shut him down the rest of the way as they sit at 27-47. Nurkic will end the season averaging 15 points, 11.1 rebounds (career high), 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 56 games. Drew Eubanks will continue to start with Nurkic out.
Jusuf Nurkic (foot) will miss at least four weeks with left foot plantar fasciitis.
The Blazers were big-time sellers at the trade deadline, and they are losing another important piece on their team for at least four weeks. The veteran center has been very good this season, averaging 15 points and 11.1 rebounds on 28.2 minutes per game. Look for players like Greg Brown and Justice Winslow to see more opportunities while he recovers.
Jusuf Nurkic scored 32 points (12-17 FG, 1-2 3PT, 7-10 FT) to go along with eight rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block on Wednesday against the Grizzlies.
Nurkic made a tougher matchup against Steven Adams look easy, posting his second game on the season with at least 30 points. In a game that came down to the wire, Nurkic posted 14 huge fourth quarter points to help the Trail Blazers win a fourth straight game.
Jusuf Nurkic had 23 points and 16 rebounds in the Blazers upset win over the Bucks on Monday night. He shot 7-for-16 from the field including connecting on both of his three-point tries in 30 minutes of action.
Nurkic posted his 30th double-double of the season and seventh in a row on Monday. During that seven-game stretch, the Blazers big man has averaged 15.6 points and 14.0 rebounds per game.
Jusuf Nurkic scored 14 points (4-16 FG, 0-3 3PT, 6-8 FT) to go along with 12 rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks on Tuesday against Orlando.
Despite his struggles Tuesday night, Nurkic is still shooting over 53 percent on the season so consider this more of an outlier game. He has also recorded four straight double-doubles as he continues to be a monster on the boards, while also averaging over one steal per game on the season.
