Kevin Durant (SF,PF)

Golden State Warriors

Kevin Durant put on his second impressive performance Friday night scoring 38 points on 14-for-25 shooting. KD added 9 rebounds and 7 assists as Golden State edged out a win against the Utah Jazz.

Fantasy Impact: KD will continue to provide stats across the board, racking up points for your fantasy team. So far in this young season, Durant has shown why he was drafted as a top 5 pick in fantasy drafts, especially in Roto leagues. Nearing a triple-double should be the norm for the All-Star forward.

Kevin Durant scored 27 points on 43 percent shooting from the field and 90 percent shooting from the charity stripe during the Warriors' 108-100 season-opening win over the Thunder. Durant added eight rebounds, six dimes, one steal and one block in 38 minutes of floor time.

Fantasy Impact: Durant had a solid showing to start off the 2018-2019 campaign, contributing a little or a lot in every fantasy category owners are looking for—except three balls. The Durantula failed to hit from beyond the arc during Golden State's first dub of the season, going 0-for-5 on the night. Other than that hiccup it was business as usual for Durant though, who will no doubt be a top 10 fantasy producer throughout the season.

Fantasy Impact: Durant showed why he is a top fantasy option on Tuesday night with a full stat line. We should see many near triple-doubles on the year and as long as KD can keep his field-goal percent up he will remain a dominant force for your team adding rebounds and assists on top of his high octane scoring.

Durant should be in for another big night in Game 3 on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact: Durant seemed to be forcing his shot a bit too much in Game 5. He didn't look to swing as much as he normally does and that reflects in his stat line with zero assists. Durant needs to step up the assists and the rebounds for the Warriors to have a chance in Game 6.

Kevin Durant (ribs) out two weeks

Fri, Mar 16th 9:53pm EDT
By Clinton Ho

Kevin Durant's MRI results reveal he has an incomplete rib cartilage fracture. The team will re-evaluate him in two weeks. (Source: Anthony Slater on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The news is brutal for fantasy owners as Durant was set up to take over while the team rests Stephen Curry (ankle) and Klay Thompson (finger) for the next few games. At this stage, Durant won't be returning until the end of March, which at best, would make him available for the teams final seven games, assuming he's cleared to play on the final day of March. The team will definitely take a safe approach as they hold a 10-game lead over the third place Trail Blazers and would prioritize health over seeding at this point.

Kevin Durant (ribs) out Friday

By Matt Wiswell

Kevin Durant will miss Friday's contest against the Kings as he deals with sore ribs. He injured his ribs Wednesday against the Lakers but was able to play through it and finish the game. (Source: Connor Letourneau on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: David West, who is returning to the court after dealing with a cyst on his right arm, may draw the start tonight in place of Durant. Jordan Bell and Omri Casspi are likely to see a few more minutes as well. With Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson out as well, the Warriors may have to rely on scoring from the likes of West and Casspi, and Nick Young and Shaun Livingston will probably see a significant amount of looks. Any of those five make for decent DFS options in the cheaper category.

Fantasy Impact: Durant finished with a season-low one assist. When Durant isn't racking up assist the Warriors generally tend to lose games. The Thunder have figured out how to make Durant a bit ineffective and without his 15 free throw attempts, Durant wouldn't have hit 30 points in this game.

Fantasy Impact: Durant becomes a cash-game DFS option in his first game back as Stephen Curry has been ruled out after spraining his ankle during the team's shootaround. Klay Thompson will miss the game for rest purposes. With both players out, Durant should see a significant bump in usage. Shaun Livingston may be used in the starting point guard role and would offer salary relief.

He also chipped in with six assists and four rebounds in 34 minutes of action.

Fantasy Impact: With Stephen Curry expected to return from his 11-game absence on Saturday night, Durant's run as the primary scorer could be coming to a close. Fantasy Impact: Despite shooting below 50 percent, Durant still managed to find his way to the top of the score sheet. In this instance, it was courtesy of his ability to make it to the free-throw line. Durant has found his groove with the Warriors and is extremely efficient across the stats sheet. However, playing alongside three All-Stars means his ceiling is always capped. That said, his floor remains high, and he can be relied on to score generously in all formats.

Fantasy Impact: Durant and Stephen Curry led the Warriors offense on Thursday night, with Klay Thompson relegated to a third-wheel role. Durant went 6-for-7 in the third quarter when the Warriors scored 50 points to overcome a double-digit deficit. It seems that when the games are tight, Durant and Curry will usually step to the forefront. When the games are easy, they take a backseat, allowing Klay Thompson to shine. However, Durant's contribution in the rebounds and assists ensures that he always delivers good value -- even when he is the second-highest scorer on the team.

Fantasy Impact: Durant had a very efficient night in a game that stayed competitive for the first half. His ceiling was capped due to a Klay Thompson points explosion, and the offensive time-share the Warriors have in place with Stephen Curry. While he won't consistently put up big numbers, like James Harden or Russell Westbrook, Durant can be relied on to consistently generate value across all key stats.

On the court for 32 minutes in Saturday night's road win over the Thunder, Kevin Durant went 12-for-21, including 3-for-6 from three-point range. He also pulled down nine rebounds and contributed three assists.

Fantasy Impact: Kevin Durant's return to Oklahoma was a huge success by a number of measures. He not only overcame the demons of his ignominious departure, but also was able to snap back spectacularly from below average shooting performances in the past few weeks. While he was granted the lion's share of the shots, the scoring was distributed relatively equal among the big three. This means the Warriors may have established a harmonious offense for Durant, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson. If they can maintain this over the next few games, Durant can again be counted on as the prolific fantasy scorer that he was at the start of the year.

On the court for 32 minutes in Friday night's road win against the Grizzlies, Kevin Durant went 5-for-14, including 3-for-6 from three-point range. He went 11-for-14 from the free-throw line, and pulled down five rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: Durant was given the second highest number of shot attempts, behind Klay Thompson's 23, as coach Steve Kerr looks to snap his star forward out of a scoring slump. His ability to draw the foul ensured his stats looked respectable but he is a shadow of a player that led the Warriors' offense to start the year. You'd expect Durant to step up in a big way when the Warriors take on his former team the Thunder in the next matchup.

On the court for 30 minutes in Wednesday night's home win over the Bulls, Kevin Durant went 9-for-16, including 1-for-2 from three-point range. He also pulled down ten rebounds, contributed seven assists and stole the ball on three occasions. He also committed three turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: It was back-to-basics for Durant, who was coming off the worst game of his Warriors career. It was easy to settle back in as he took on a Chicago playing without Jimmy Butler. Durant took the second highest number of shot attempts, behind Klay Thompson. It's a bit of a game of musical chairs as to who will be the lead shot taker on any given night. Coach Steve Kerr seems to be testing out different combinations before the playoffs. At this point, it's hard to depend on Durant to put up the big numbers but he's always a chance.

On the court for 42 minutes in Saturday night's OT loss on the road, Kevin Durant went 2-for-10, including 0-for-6 from three-point range, he also pulled down nine rebounds and had five blocks.

Fantasy Impact: This was one of Durant's worst games of his career and definitely the worst of his time with the Warriors. It appears to have been some time coming as his shooting was declining in recent games. The most obvious explanation is that Durant has dropped to third in the pecking order (in terms of shot attempts) behind Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. In this game, he also had fewer shot attempts that Draymond Green (15). Durant was leading the Warriors in all meaningful stats at the start of the year but Stephen Curry's woeful shooting prompted a rebalancing act from coach Steve Kerr. You would expect him to do the same here but avoid Durant for the time being. Klay Thompson might be a better value play.

On the court for 37 minutes in Thursday night's road win over Los Angeles, Kevin Durant went 8-for-18, including 2-for-7 from three-point range. He also contributed 10 assists and pulled down eight rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: Durant's shooting has been off the past few nights, as he has slipped to third in the Warriors' pecking order, in terms of shot attempts. However, he still generates enough value across the court to be a highly potent fantasy option. In this case, his assists have seen an uptick in recent games, especially as Draymond Green was out of this contest. Hopefully, Durant can improve his shooting to elevate his floor.

On the court for 32 minutes in Wednesday night's home win over Charlotte, Kevin Durant went 7-for-17, including 1-for-7 from three-point range. He also contributed eight assists and eight rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: It was an off-night for Durant, who was forced to marvel at Stephen Curry's 39-point masterpiece, which included 11 three-pointers. Durant was also limited by garbage time, which kicked in early when the Warriors went up by 20 points. Durant had the third-most shot attempts, behind Curry (20) and Klay Thompson (19). Thompson has been struggling recently, so Durant was most likely given a rest to address the situation. This is as low as Durant's floor will go, as he generates additional value in the boards and assists.

On the court for 36 minutes in Wednesday night's road win against the Hornets, Kevin Durant went 11-for-20 from the field, including 1-for-4 from three-point range. He made all ten free throws, pulled down five rebounds, and had four blocks. He also committed six turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: Durant was the top scorer despite attempting just the second-highest number of shots (behind Stephen Curry's 23). He appears to have found his groove, especially when given minutes on the court in these tight contests. He took a few quarters to get going but was unstoppable when he did. The high turnover count was an anomaly and should be expected to drop in the next contest.

On the court for 36 minutes in Monday night's road loss, Kevin Durant went 12-for-23, including 1-for-8 from three-point range. He also pulled down six rebounds and contributed three assists.

Fantasy Impact: For the first time in weeks, Durant was the clear leader in shot attempts. His shot attempts have been down since the start of the year when Stephen Curry took the lead role on offense. However, the additional shots actually hurt Durant's efficiency, which had been trending upward (~60 percent) in the previous weeks' games. Further, his production in other areas of offense, boards and assists, were also down. This was the second game in a row where the Warriors, as a team, shot below 50 percent and had less than 30 assists. The machine was humming over the past few weeks but appears to have sputtered in these back-to-back road games. It will be important to see whether the team and Durant, can regain composure when they travel to Charlotte on Wednesday night.

On the court for 29 minutes on Sunday afternoon's road win in Orlando, Kevin Durant went 5-for-12, including 1-for-3 from three-point range. He also pulled down ten rebounds and contributed six assists.

Fantasy Impact: The performance of the Warriors' stars was capped in the blowout win. While the scores were equal at half-time, the Warriors had a 42-point third quarter to close out the result early. After Durant's 32-point outing against the Houston Rockets on Friday night, he had a diminished scoring impact: The last time he scored less than 20 points was in December. This can be attributed to the Warriors moving away from their structured offense and adopting a more free-wheeling style of play. Their shooting percentage was less than 50 percent and they had fewer than 30 assists. The last time this happened was on January 10. However, Durant's team-high contribution on boards ensured he still delivered value for fantasy owners. Durant is expected to bounce back in scoring against the Miami Heat on Monday.

In the away win against the Rockets on Friday night, Kevin Durant went 12-for-19, including 2-for-7 from three-point range. He also contributed seven assists and pulled down four rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: Durant and company dined out as the Rockets shot 44 percent and committed 14 turnovers. He had a team-high 19 shot attempts, which was equal with Klay Thompson and one more than Stephen Curry. Durant had the highest shooting percentage of anyone the court for more than 20 minutes. Since the Warriors recalibrated their offense, Durant's shooting percentage has hovered around 60 percent. While his boards are down, his fantasy value will still remain high.

On the court for 33 minutes in Wednesday night's home win over Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant went 13-for-16, including 5-for-7 from beyond the three-point line, and 9-for-10 in free-throws. He also pulled down 12 rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: Durant was on a tear against his former club. His shooting percentage has been improving in the past few games when he has taken fewer shots than Stephen Curry, but this kind of performance could not have been predicted. It was his highest scoring game of the season, and his second-best shooting percentage. He bounced back in a big way from the previous game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Expect Durant to take this momentum into the last few weeks of January.

On the court for 28 minutes in Monday night's home win against the Cavaliers, Kevin Durant went 9-for-16, including 3-for-7 from three-point range. He also pulled down six rebounds and contributed five assists.

Fantasy Impact: Of the starting team, only Zaza Pachulia played fewer minutes than Kevin Durant. The Warriors' big three received a rest early in the fourth quarter when it was clear they had the game in the bag. Durant was again down on shot attempts, behind Klay Thompson (17) and Stephen Curry (20). He was also down on rebounds -- he had half as many as Pachulia and Draymond Green -- where he normally takes the lead. It's hard to imagine that Durant was being rested for such a high-profile match-up. It appears that he's been relegated to a more supporting role in the Warriors' offense, now being led by Stephen Curry. If this remains the case, Durant's ceiling will be capped.

On the court for 31 minutes in Friday night's home win against the Nuggets, Kevin Durant went 10-for-15, including 3-for-5 from three-point range. He also pulled down six rebounds, contributed nine assists, and committed three turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: While his shot attempts have steadily declined over the past few games, and despite contesting with the return of Klay Thompson, Durant still managed to be the top scorer for the Warriors. Steve Kerr's strategy to reduce Durant's role on offense appears to have achieved its goal of increasing the forward's efficiency. The biggest benefit of the Warriors' decision to spread the ball more evenly (apart from giving Stephen Curry the most looks) is that Durant was open for the majority of his looks. He went 8-for-11 on shots while open (defenders more than four feet away). While his points ceiling has been capped, Durant can be expected to put up consistently high numbers in the new Warriors set-up.

On the court for 36 minutes in Tuesday night's home win against the Heat, Kevin Durant went 10-for-21 from the field, including 3-for-6 from three-point range.

Fantasy Impact: Durant made as many shot attempts as Stephen Curry, arresting a decline in production over the past three games. However, this was most likely due to the fact that Klay Thompson was rested. Durant's shot attempts, and overall usage, have been down since the start of the month, when Curry was given the lead role on offense. More importantly, it appears to have affect Durant's confidence. He went 4-for-12 in the first half -- including shooting 4-for-10 while shooting when defenders were less than four feet away. Durant had an incredible start to his Warriors career, but Curry struggled to put points on the board. As Golden State mounts their championship tilt, Warriors coach Steve Kerr is re-balancing the chemistry of the team. Durant will continue to put up big numbers but his ceiling is limited as long as Curry is the lead weapon on offense.

On the court for 36 minutes in Sunday night's away win against the Kings, Kevin Durant went 9-for-15, including 2-for-4 from three-point range. He went 8-for-9 from the free-throw line, pulled down seven rebounds, and contributed six assists. He also had four blocks.

Fantasy Impact: The 15 shot attempts was the third highest on the team, behind Klay Thomspon (19) and Stephen Curry (22). The past weeks has seen Curry take the lead role on offense, limiting Durant's ceiling. While he may not be taking as many shots as he did in the first half of the season, the reduced responsibility may produce a more efficient Kevin Durant. It may also give him time to increase his rebounds and assists. Impressively, Durant went 5-for-8 when facing tight coverage (defender less than four feet away). It'll be interesting to observe how this plays out.

On the court for 42 minutes in Friday night's loss at home to the Memphis Grizzlies, Kevin Durant went 7-for-17 from the field but missed all five of his three-point attempts. He was 13-for-18 from the free-throw line, pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds, made three blocks, and committed four turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: This was the second game in a row where Kevin Durant was relegated to a secondary role in the offense. He seems to have lost coach Steve Kerr's favor after the Warriors lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas Day. Durant had 17 shot attempts, which was equal to Klay Thompson, but far short of Steph Curry's 27 shot attempts. He only shot 1-for-4 in the second half, and his low usage appears to have affected his confidence. While he is still putting up big numbers due to his ability to draw fouls, as well as his work rebounding, his ceiling will be capped as long as Curry is the number one weapon on offense.

On the court for 37 minutes in Wednesday night's home game against the Trailblazers, Kevin Durant went 9-for-16, including 3-for-8 from three-point range. He also made all nine free-throw attempts and pulled down five rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: Durant started strong, shooting 6-for-8 in the first half, but faded in the second, when Stephen Curry took the majority of shots. In the second half Durant only made 1-for-5 shots while open (defenders were more than four feet away). Conversely, he managed to go 2-for-3 when facing tight coverage (defenders less than four feet away). It appears that Durant lost his rhythm as Curry was given the reins to lead the offense. Durant has been the Warriors' number one weapon all season but Curry has been featured more heavily in recent weeks. If this change is made permanent, it could affect Durant's ceiling.

In Monday night's home win against the Denver Nuggets, Kevin Durant shot 10-for-19, including 1-for-4 from the three-point line. He also pulled down three rebounds, contributed two assists, and two turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: After his 26-minute triple-double against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night, Durant had a relatively quiet night. He struggled most from catch-and-shoot range, where he went 1-for-5; and also struggled when pulling the trigger, going 2-for-7 when he shot the ball without dribbling. This was a night when the scoring spoils were shared amongst the Warriors, with six players getting into double digits. Additionally, Draymond Green's triple-double limited Duran'ts otherwise awesome rebounding and excellent assists contributions. Ever since the loss to Cleveland on Christmas Day, the Warriors have distributed the ball generously among all players. It will be something to watch, as it could limit Durant's ceiling.

On the court for 35 minutes in Friday night's win at home, Kevin Durant scored 19 points, pulled down 11 rebounds, and contributed 10 assists. He went 7-for-14 from the field, including 2-for-7 from three-point range. He also committed four turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: Durant was unstoppable early, shooting 6-for-8 in the first half, including 2-for-3 when facing tight coverage (defender less than four feet away). He also benefited from the accurate shooting of Klay Thompson, who converted all four of Durant's passes. Durant and Thompson are the number one and two weapons, respectively, in the Warriors offense, and their combination is proving to be more potent than that of Draymond Green and Stephen Curry, or even Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Durant worked hard early when the game needed to be won and only switched off in the second half when the game was in the bag -- which is probably the only obstacle to his high scoring potential. Expect the form to continue against the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.

In Tuesday night's win at home over the Toronto Raptors, Kevin Durant went 8-for-15, including 3-for-5 from three-point range. He also contributed seven assists, five blocks, and six turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: It was a varied night for Durant, who found himself taking a back seat to Stephen Curry on offense. Still, he found a way to get it done for fantasy owners, exploding on defense to equal his season-best record for rebounds. It helped that Toronto only made 38 percent of its baskets, giving him plenty of opportunities to find the ball. Durant was looking like he might go on a tear in the first half when he shot 7-for-9, but slipped away in the second, when the Warriors had secured the win. He was 1-for-6 in the second half. He just couldn't find a rhythm, because the defense had him well covered in the second half where he went 0-for-5 in tight coverage (defenders <4 feet away). That said, even when he's less than his best, Durant is still a star.

On the court for 38 minutes in Sunday's one-point loss on the road in Cleveland, Kevin Durant went 11-for-23, including 2-for-8 from three-point range. He pulled down 15 rebounds and went 12-for-12 from the free-throw line.

Fantasy Impact: As the Cavaliers made a late charge to win the game, Durant's shooting percentage slipped and he shot 2-for-9 in the fourth quarter. His stats, impressive until that point, took a hit as he attempted to single-handedly win the game in the fourth: he went 1-for-6 from pull-up jumper range, and while facing tight coverage (defenders between 2-4 feet away). Durant's all-or-nothing mentality is what makes him the great player he is. On this occasion it didn't come off but it won't stop him from trying it again in the future. He should be back to his efficient self for the next game against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

In 31 minutes on the court in Friday night's road game against the Pistons, Kevin Durant went 13-for-18, including 3-for-4 from three-point range. He also pulled down eight rebounds, committed four turnovers, and fouled out of the game in the middle of the fourth quarter.

Fantasy Impact: Durant put on a shooting showcase against the Pistons. He was perfect from catch-and-shoot range, and went 5-for-6 from less than ten feet. His only weakness was from the pull-up jumper range, where he was 1-for-5. That was mostly because the Pistons had his measure in the first half, when he shot 6-for-10. He struggled to get open -- he was 3-for-6 when facing tight coverage (<2 feet away) -- and worked hard to create opportunities -- going 2-for-6 while dribbling more than once. The second half was a different story, as he was a near flawless 7-for-8. The Warriors always have a way of getting Durant open. Despite fouling out in the middle of the fourth quarter, he was the difference in the tight game against the Pistons. He always plays hard and plays to win.

On the court for 33 minutes in Thursday night's away game, Kevin Durant went 10-for-23, including 1-for-7 from three-point range. He went 5-for-6 from the free-throw line, pulled down nine rebounds, and contributed seven assists. He also stole the ball three times.

Fantasy Impact: It was a tale of two halves for Durant who went 4-for-11 in the first half, compared with 6-for-12 in the second. Durant struggled against the coverage in the first-half, going 0-for-5 when tightly guarded (defenders <4 feet four away) and 4-for-6 when open (defenders >4 feet away). But he found his mojo by the second half when, despite being tightly guarded, he was 6-for-9. He knows how to adapt to the coverage and continue to put up high numbers that will win the Warriors the game. Expect more of the same against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

In a blowout win at home on Tuesday night, Kevin Durant went 8-for-14 from the field, 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, and pulled down five rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: In addition to giving him a well-earned rest, Durant's minutes on the court were also affected by the fact he fouled out of the game. He took just a single shot in the final quarter, compared to five shots in the third quarter. It was unfortunate for fantasy owners as he was just hitting his stride. He was shooting at 60 percent in the third, compared to 50 percent in the first two quarters. It appeared to come as a result of the tiring Utah Jazz defense, which allowed him to go 3-for-4 from a range of fewer than 10 feet. The outstanding performance of the Warriors' starters, which allows the bench to close out the game, is the only real threat to Durant's fantasy numbers. Expect him to continue his hot run in Brooklyn on Thursday night, when the Warriors play the Nets.

In 30 minutes on the court against the Portland Trailblazers, Kevin Durant went 11-for-13, including 4-for-5 from three-point range. He also managed to go 8-for-10 from free-throw range, and pulled down 11 rebounds. He also turned over the ball five times.

Fantasy Impact: Kevin Durant put on a clinic at home against the Trailblazers. He went 5-for-6 from pull-up jumper range but also made shots from catch-and-shoot range (3-for-4) and he was perfect from less than ten feet. He mostly did it all himself. He attempted eight shots after dribbling the ball more than two times, and made nine shots after holding the ball longer than two seconds. But Portland made the fundamental error of leaving Durant open. He was 5-for-6 when defenders were more than four feet away. It isn't clear if it made a difference, as he was 6-for-7 when they were less than four feet away. This was one of those dream fantasy performances, but you can expect it'll happen again this season. Durant is the Warriors' number one weapon.

Kevin Durant scored 15 points, pulled down 14 rebounds, and contributed eight assists in Thursday night's road game against the Knicks. He went 7-for-18 from the field and 1-for-6 from three-point range.

Fantasy Impact: Afforded the most number of shot attempts on the team, Kevin Durant also received the ball early, with all but one of his shots coming with less than seven seconds left on the shot clock. Twelve of his shots came with at least 15 seconds remaining on the shot clock. Durant was best when he had to work for his shots. He was 5-for-8 on shots where he dribbled the ball between one and two times. However, he was 2-for-7 when he shot without dribbling the ball. Despite tight coverage, he managed to go 5-for-12 when defenders were within four feet while he was shooting the ball. While he was capped in the points by a Klay Thompson showcase, Durant demonstrated his versatility in this team. He is very difficult to contain despite receiving much more defensive attention than Stephen Curry. Expect his star to continue to rise.

Kevin Durant went 10-for-19 from the field during Monday night's win in New Orleans. In his 37 minutes on the court, he also shot 6-for-7 from the free-throw line, had three rebounds, three assists, and three turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: Durant continues to get good looks at the hoop. He attempted the majority of his shots when the shot clock countdown was between 15 and 7 seconds, and the balance of the shots were made even earlier in the count. Almost 50 percent of his shots were attempted when he held the ball for less than two seconds, and he converted on almost 80 percent of these attempts. Strangely, this efficiency dropped significantly when he held the ball for between two and six seconds. It indicates that Durant has less work to do on his own and when the Warriors offense works well as a unit. That was obviously the case against the Pelicans. Expect this form to continue when Golden State hosts a middling New York Knicks team on Thursday night.

Kevin Durant went 6-for-21 from the field, as the Golden State Warriors beat the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night. On the court for 37 minutes, he converted all nine of his free-throw attempts, pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and contributed five assists.

Fantasy Impact: KD looks tired. His performances to carry the team for the first part of the season, are seemingly taking their toll. He is pushing himself too hard, which is forcing him to make mistakes. Part of the pressure is due to the lackluster shooting performances of Stephen Curry but Durant was also guilty of trying to do-it-all at Oklahoma. Luckily Klay Thompson stepped up Sunday to save the Warriors from an unlikely defeat. Hopefully, coach Steve Kerr will give KD some time to rest soon.

Kevin Durant went 7-for-13 from the field, including 3-for-6 from beyond three-point range, in Saturday night's loss on the road. He pulled down seven rebounds and two blocks.

Fantasy Impact: Even on an off night for the Warriors, Durant managed to still put up good numbers. There wasn't much more he could've done for the team, which seemed to fall victim to complacency and indiscipline. Expect them to bounce back on Sunday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kevin Durant scored 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, as the Golden State Warriors beat the Utah Jazz in a road game on Thursday. He was on the court for a team-high 36 minutes and also managed four assists and two blocks.

Fantasy Impact: Durant had another relatively quiet game, where he scored most of his points in garbage time. While he has been a true leader in the more tightly-contested games, he seems happy to take a backseat against the weaker opponents. Durant has scored points prolifically so far this season, so the strategy to rest him on offense could be more about allowing his teammates to build their confidence. He still makes his presence felt, under the ring, and is adept at drawing fouls to get to the free-throw line (he was 6-for-8 by this measure). This actually appears to be Durant's floor, which is encouraging, and he is never too far from an explosion.

Kevin Durant scored 16 points in a road win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. On the court for 32 minutes, he went 5-for-17 from the field, including 1-for-5 from three-point range. He pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and seven assists for the night.

Fantasy Impact: In the first road game for over a week, Durant quietly supported the team's two top scorers, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. It was his third lowest points total for the season and the shooting percentage was less than 30 percent, one of the season's worst performances. Durant was bound to have an off night after what has been a commanding start to the season. Luckily the Warriors have the depth of talent to cover for these rare occurrences, so the pressure on Durant is slight. Expect him to bounce back in the next game. If he's not on your fantasy team, his last two showings, which were adequate, may give you an opportunity to trade with skittish owners.

Kevin Durant scored 20 points in 22 minutes as the Golden State Warriors beat the Indiana Pacers comfortably in Oakland on Monday night. He shot 9-for-14 from the field and pulled down eight rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.

Fantasy Impact: Durant put up respectable numbers on a night that was defined by Klay Thompson's record-breaking 60-points in 29 minutes. Like Thompson and Stephen Curry, Durant was pulled just before the end of the third quarter, when the Warriors had the game in the bag. Durant's arrival has really allowed Thompson room to grow into the role of the leading man. The combination will continue to create headaches, and opportunities, as the Warriors face more porous defenses over the course of the season.

Kevin Durant scored 20 points as the Golden State Warriors beat the Phoenix Suns by 29 points in Oakland on Saturday night. He went 5-for-7 from the field and sunk a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line. Durant, who was on the court for 32 minutes, also pulled down four rebounds and eight assists.

Fantasy Impact: Despite the fact that Durant largely played a supporting role to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, he still managed to produce good numbers for fantasy owners. While he was the third highest scorer, he made his presence felt in all other areas, including three commanding blocks and converting on a number of fastbreak opportunities. His 32 minutes on the court was probably designed to give him a rest, following his 49-minute, 39-point epic in the double overtime loss to the Rockets on Thursday night. The slight downturn, after Durant's prolific performances over the past few weeks, was to be expected, especially in an easier game like this one. He will always stand up on the big occasions, of which there will be plenty to come.

Durant played a team-high 49 minutes as he went 12-for-28 from the field, 12-for-12 from the free throw line, and pulled down 13 rebounds in Thursday night's loss to the Houston Rockets. He also managed two assists, three steals, and three blocks.

Fantasy Impact: Durant secured his third double-double in a row, as he again stepped up in the absence of partners-in-crime, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. The only blemish was Durant's three-point shooting percentage, where he went 3-for-11. It's clear that the Warriors are wholly dependent on Durant, on both offense and defense. Expect his awesome production to continue, especially as Curry continues to find his place in the new set-up.

In Monday night's home game against a fighting Atlanta Hawks team, Kevin Durant went 8-for-16 from the field, and 8-for-8 from the free-throw line on his way to 25 points to help power the Golden State Warriors to their 12th straight win.

Fantasy Impact: This was one of the Warriors' toughest games all season and it took a team effort to put away the Hawks. Apart from Durant's 14 rebounds -- almost a third of the team's overall rebound count -- nobody really stood out on the stats sheet, with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson also scoring 20-plus points. While Durant has taken the lead against the weaker teams, it's clear that in tight games like this, the Warriors will share the load. This means that while Durant registered his seventh double-double of the season, it's unlikely that he'll break into the triple-double average earned by his former teammate Russell Westbrook.

Kevin Durant managed 11-for-19 from the field on his way to 29 points and registered a game-high nine assists and six rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: Durant is on a roll. He has established himself as the number one player on the league's most potent offense. He achieved this despite the fact that two-time MVP Stephen Curry played more minutes (Durant was on the court for 33 minutes, compared to Curry's 36 minutes). Apart from when Durant was blocked from behind early in the first quarter, he was virtually unstoppable. Durant is making his presence felt by all major measures. His nine assists on Friday night against the Lakers represented almost a third of the team's overall assists. He continues to score points from all around the court and can lob the ball into the hoop with the finesse that few other big men in the league possess. As the season continues, Durant's value will continue to increase as he solidifies his place as the focal point of the Warriors' offense.

Golden State Warriors small forward Kevin Durant managed to record a double-double Monday night scoring 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Durant added six assists, two steals, and two blocks in 27 minutes.

Kevin Durant was held to 18 points adding nine rebounds, five assists, one steal and two blocks.

Fantasy Impact: Durant scored more than 20 points for the 72nd game in a row. Durant has also been efficient defensively averaging 1.9 steals and 1.3 blocks a game which constitute a career best. Fantasy Impact: Durant is the guy to own in Golden State. He is a must play and does well in both cash and GPP lineups for DFS. This game will not hurt his fantasy value and he will likely dominate their next game against the Mavericks on Wednesday.

After meeting with multiple teams, Kevin Durant has chosen to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and join the Golden State Warriors on a two-year, $54 million contract with a second-year player option. (Source: Players Tribune)

Fantasy Impact: It's hard to imagine a 73 win team getting better, but Kevin Durant made the Warriors the clear favorite to win the Championship. This also does not necessarily worsen Durant's fantasy value as he'll now have more open looks and can become even more efficient. The Warriors need a player that can get to the foul line and that role will not change for Durant. He also may be in for a slight rebound boost when the team goes into their small-ball lineups.

ESPN reporters Ramona Shelburne and Arash Markazi report that the Clippers will get a meeting with free agent Kevin Durant. The Clippers are the fourth team (along with the Thunder, Warriors, and Spurs) to secure a meeting with the highly coveted free agent. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: A big four of Durant, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan would arguably be the best team in the NBA. It’s probably a long shot, but if the Clippers can sign Durant, they would probably be favorites to win the NBA title, and will make many Los Angeles fans forget about the Lakers.

ESPN’s Chris Broussard reports that Kevin Durant will meet with the Thunder first on Thursday 6/30, the Warriors second Friday 7/1, and the Spurs Saturday 7/2. (Source: Chris Broussard on Twitter)

ESPN senior writer Marc Stein reports that New York Knicks Forward Carmelo Anthony has been actively recruiting Free Agent Kevin Durant. Anthony and Durant have been together in New York for the past couple of days for the 12 man roster announcement for the USA Olympic Basketball team. While the official free agency period doesn’t begin until Friday, the league usually doesn’t penalize player recruitment because many of these players, such as Anthony and Durant, are friends. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: While signing Durant would be a longshot. The Knicks frontcourt would look scary with Anthony and Durant at the Forward positions and Kristaps Porzingis at Center. Look for Porzingis in particular to improve as Anthony and Durant would see consistent double teams.

With NBA free agency approaching, there is no player more coveted than the Oklahoma City Thunder’s superstar forward Kevin Durant. ESPN reporter Marc Stein reports that the first three teams to land a recruiting meeting with the star are the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, and San Antonio Spurs. (Source: Marc Stein on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The Warriors would provide the most intriguing fantasy situation. With Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green all looking like potential top 20 fantasy players, there may not be enough balls to go around if they added Durant. However, the Warriors fast pace style should allow all four player enough opportunities to all be fantasy stars. Fantasy owners shouldn't worry too much about Durant’s free agency decision. Durant should return top 10 value with any of these three teams.

Kevin Durant scored 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting and added seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

Fantasy Impact: Durant is back to his efficient self. He is No. 1 fantasy player right now.

Kevin Durant scored 26 points on 9-for-18 shooting and added 17 rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block in 33 minutes in a 112-94 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Fantasy Impact: Durant looked like his normal self tonight. He was cleaning the glass all night and stayed aggressive. Durant is the best fantasy player right now and will be moving forward.

Kevin Durant will start Wednesday versus the Memphis Grizzlies.

Fantasy Impact: After a one game absence due to a big toe injury, Durant will play. This move sends Anthony Morrow back to the bench.

Fantasy Impact: It was speculated that Durant could miss a few games with this toe injury as he suffered a similar injury last year, but on the opposite foot, and missed four games. With 11 games on the schedule tonight, you might want to consider another option.

Kevin Durant will miss Monday nights game against the Sacramento Kings because of an injury to his right big toe. Durant injured this toe Saturday night against the Hornets. (Source: Anthony Slater on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This is an injury that needs to be monitored as Kevin Durant suffered a similar injury (left big toe) last year and missed four games. The Thunder play Wednesday night, so check back closer to game time to see if he is playing.

Kevin Durant made 8-of-13 from the field and was 10-of-11 from the free throw line for 29 points during a 109-90 win over the Hornets on Saturday, adding 11 rebounds, two assists, four blocks and three 3-pointers.

Fantasy Impact: Durant was in a mini slump before tonight's contest with back-to-back games below 50 percent from the field. After a slow December, Durant is very capable of being the No.1 overall fantasy player moving forward.

Kevin Durant scored 23 points on 9-for-21 shooting with two rebounds, two assists, one block, and two 3-pointers in 40 minutes of action against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact: Durant couldn't find his rhythm until the second half where he scored 16 of his 23 points. This marks his sixth time this season that he has been below 43 percent shooting. No need to panic here.

Category: , Game Recaps

Kevin Durant scored 26 points on 6-of-18 shooting and was a perfect 13-for-13 at the line. He led the Thunder with eight assists on the night and added six rebounds in the win.

Fantasy Impact: As long as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are on the floor at the same time they will continue to put up big numbers. They are the best duo in the game right now and as long as they stay healthy the Thunder are set to make a deep run in the playoffs this season.

Kevin Durant scored 21 points while going 7-for-9 from the field and 6-for-6 shooting from the line in a blowout win over the Lakers. Durant added seven rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and one three-pointer for an excellent all-around game.

Fantasy Impact: Durant continues to be a monster in all fantasy formats. He contributes solid numbers across all categories as he is averaging 26.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.3 blocks, and 2.4 three-pointers per game all while shooting over 52 percent from the field and 88 percent from the line.

Kevin Durant scored 31 points on a solid 10-of-17 shooting Sunday night. He played a game-high 43 minutes for the Thunder adding five rebounds and six assists in the win. He also got to the stripe ten times, making nine of his ten attempts.

Fantasy Impact: As long as Durant can stay healthy, the Thunder have a legitimate chance at making a run for the title this year. Continue to deploy Durant in all formats as this teams offense goes solely through Durant and Westbrook.

Category: , Game Recaps

Kevin Durant lead all scorers with 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting. He added 12 rebounds and 10 assists in the win. Atlanta had a good third quarter but overall it was an easy win for Durant and the Thunder.

Fantasy Impact: Kevin Durant is back and better than ever. Continue to use in all formats as he continues to play at an MVP-caliber level.

Category: , Game Recaps

Kevin Durant shot a very efficient 11-for-14 from the floor including 4-for-5 from three-point range. Durant added three steals, six assists, and 10 rebounds in 31 minutes of action.

Fantasy Impact: KD layed down a double-double like it was nothing Tuesday night and shot the lights out against a team who was supposedly good at defense. KD continues his assault on the basket bringing his season shooting percentage to 53%.

Category: , Game Recaps

Kevin Durant double-doubled in Sunday nights win versus the Sacramento Kings scoring 20 points and adding ten rebounds. He also had four assists in the win, playing a game-high 38 minutes. Every bit of it was needed as he made the last four points of the game in the come-from-behind 98-to-95 win.

Fantasy Impact: A healthy Durant is a happy Durant as he will continue to receive all the playing time he can handle. The Thunder are very thin at the small forward position so Durant should be owned and started in all fantasy formats

Category: , Game Recaps

Kevin Durant went 9-for-21 from the field and just 2-for-7 from three while adding nine rebounds and five assists in 34 minutes of action. Durant made five of seven free throws as well.

Fantasy Impact: KD is now averaging 28 points per game and shooting the best of his career at 45% on the season. While he's having an extremely efficient season, some owners wonder if we will ever see that 30 points per game average that we've seen in the past.

Category: , Game Recaps

Kevin Durant was the star in his return to the lineup on Monday night scoring 27 points on a MVP-like 10-of-13 shooting. He also had six rebounds and four steals in the win.

Fantasy Impact: A healthy Durant is a beautiful thing for both Oklahoma City, and your fantasy team. Durant is once again safe to use in both season long, and daily fantasy leagues as he consistently hits value. Durant and his partner-in-crime Russell Westbrook should be considered one of the leagues best dynamic duos.

Kevin Durant continues to be sidelined, but he told reporters Monday that his injured hamstring feels "way better." The injury is expected to keep Durant out for at least one more game. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Considering we're early in the season, the Thunder will continue to take a cautious approach with Durant. While he's out, Russell Westbrook continues to be a top option, though his DFS price certainly reflects that.

Category: , Injury Updates

Kevin Durant had an MRI on Wednesday and the results confirmed a hamstring strain. Durant will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days. (Source: Ken Berger on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: With Durant down, look for Russell Westbrook to carry this team on his back. Expect big things from Westbrook as he should be the horse that drives your daily fantasy team when the Thunder play. Also in the mix for more playing time are Enes Kanter and Dion Waiters.

Category: , Injury Updates

After putting up a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds in the first half, Kevin Durant had to sit out the second half due to a strained left hamstring. Durant was on fire before the injury happened, but the Thunder ended up not needing him in the second half as they easily won the game 125-to-101.

Fantasy Impact: Monitor Durant's status as it is unclear how long the superstar may be out. Consider him day-to-day until we get the official word. Luckily, the Thunder have been relatively injury free until tonight with Durant going down. Avoid playing in both season-long and daily fantasy until we find out more about his injury.

Kevin Durant scored 32 points on 12-of-19 shooting Sunday night, and added 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Durant is hot right now and is shooting 50 percent from the field through the first seven games, averaging 30.1 points per game.

Fantasy Impact: See Durant, play Durant in all formats. He is back to his MVP-self right now and when Westbrook and Durant get in-sync with one another, watch out league.

Category: , Game Recaps

Kevin Durant continues to pile in the points no matter who is guarding him. Jimmy Butler was supposed to provide him with his toughest challenge of the season, and Durant scored 33 points on 13-of-29 shooting. However it wasn't enough as the Thunder ended up losing the game 104-98.

Fantasy Impact: Durant also had six rebounds and five assists in the loss, making him a more valuable play in daily fantasy. Unfortunately if all he does is score points, he'll need to put up anywhere from 40-50 points a game to hit his value. If he can continue to rebound and spread the ball he is a bargin in all formats.

Category: , Game Recaps

Kevin Durant scored 27 points on Wednesday night shooting 56 percent from the field. He had seven rebounds and four assists, as well as three blocks on the night. The Thunder find themselves in a small two game losing streak, but it hasn't been from poor play out of Durant or Westbrook.

Fantasy Impact: KD definitely has his stroke back from before he was injured last year, and should continue to put up big numbers across the board. He does more than just score so he should always be the block you build around in DFS.

Category: , Game Recaps

Kevin Durant played in a team high 35 minutes on Monday night and scored 29 points in his teams first loss of the season. He had four rebounds and did not record an assist in the losing affair.

Fantasy Impact: Monday night could be considered an off night for Durant as most of his stat line was empty besides his 29 points. Durant usually spreads the ball around enough to be a productive assist man along with his points and rebounds. He should bounce back on Wednesday when the Thunder take on the Raptors at home.

Category: , Game Recaps

Kevin Durant scored 25 on 8-of-11 shooting from the field Sunday night. Like Westbrook, his services were not needed in the fourth quarter, letting the former MVP rest on the bench. The Thunder have had a great rhythm in their first three games of the season under new head coach Billy Donovan, and Kevin Durant is a big reason why.

Fantasy Impact: Along with Durant's 25 points he also had five assists and two rebounds. An "off-night" in fantasy terms for an MVP caliber player. However, most night's the Thunder small forward won't be able to take off the entirety of the fourth quarter like he was able to tonight.

Category: , Game Recaps

Kevin Durant played hero on Friday night by hoisting up a game-tying three-pointer, sending the game into overtime. The Thunder eventually won the game 139-136 behind Durant's 43 points and 12 rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: Durant played 54 minutes of MVP caliber basketball in Friday night's double-overtime win. Luckily, the Billy Donovan led team has a day off on Saturday to rest up for Sunday's clash with the Denver Nuggets. There is no reason ever to sit Durant in season long fantasy leagues as the former MVP has put his foot injuries from last year behind him.

Thunder superstar Kevin Durant has been cleared for training camp per Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti. Durant is coming off his second major foot surgery that limited him to only 27 games in 2014-15. (Source: Anthony Slater on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Great news for the Thunder and potential fantasy owners. Durant will return to be a top five option in fantasy and will be looking for his fifth scoring title in his eight-year career. Russell Westbrook's scoring total will take a step back with the return of Durant, but you will be hard-pressed to find a better duo in the NBA or in fantasy.

After a foot injury that required multiple injuries and cost Kevin Durant 55 games, the Thunder forward has declared himself able to go 100 percent. Durant is attending the USA basketball team's minicamp and is participating in team workouts. (Source: Ethan Skolnick on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: During the practices, Durant has looked like he has not missed a beat. Granted it is only practice, but the excitement is starting to build after a lost 2014-15 season. There is no way Durant should slip out of the top 5 in fantasy drafts and is a legitimate option for the No. 2 spot behind Anthony Davis.

Billy Donovan to coach Thunder

Thu, Apr 30th 2:25pm EDT
By Clinton Ho

Billy Donovan has informed Florida AD Jeremy Foley that he is leaving for the Oklahoma City Thunder. (Source: Jeff Goodman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: As expected, Billy Donovan has taken the job in Oklahoma City and will try to lead Durant and Westbrook to a title. Donovan transformed Florida and the college game and for that reason, he was offered a top coaching job. Durant for his part just wants to win and should work fine with any head coach.

Thunder general manager Sam Presti traveled to meet Brooks near his California home on Wednesday and delivered the news, sources told Yahoo Sports. This comes on the heels of the Thunder missing the playoffs for the first time in six years. (Source: Yahoo Sports)

Fantasy Impact: Durant's value hinges squarely on his health and not who his head coach is. Blilly Donovan from the Florida Gators is expected to be a serious candidate to replace Brooks.

Thunder head coach Scott Brooks reportedly said at the Thunder exit interviews, "I expect to be the coach next season." (Source: Royce Young on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Next season is the final one of his contract and his seat has gotten a little warm once the team missed the playoffs after getting in for the last five years. It's not quite fair, though, as the Thunder would've been a substantially better team with a healthy Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka, and Kevin Durant. Our guess is that they'd have to bring him back and give him a second chance, chocking up the lost season due to health problems. The Thunder at full strength are a championship contender, but even one guy playing out of his mind wasn't enough to propel the team into the postseason in the difficult Western Conference.

Kevin Durant is expected to fully recovery in time for the start of next season after having season-ending surgery on his foot. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Durant missed the first seven weeks of the season recovering from surgery on his right foot for a Jones fracture. ESPN injury reporter Stephania Bell expects Kevin Durant to return as the dominant player he has been throughout his career.

Thunder forward Kevin Durant will undergo season-ending bone graft surgery and will be out for the rest of the season. The expected timetable for recovery is four to six months. Durant is expected to be ready to resume basketball activities by training camp next fall. (Source: NBA TV on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Tough blow for the Thunder and fantasy owners, but not an unexpected one. Since being shut down from basketball activities last week, many expected this announcement. It has been a tough injury plagued season for the former MVP, who managed to only play 27 games this season. If all goes well, Durant should be ready to go next season and return to being a top 10 draft choice for the 2015/16 season.

Durant has missed the last 13 games with an aggravation of his foot injury, which cost him the first 17 games of the season. (Source: Marc Spears on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: A tough blow to Durant owners who took the chance drafting the injured superstar in the first couple of rounds. With only 27 games played this season, Durant has been one of the biggest disappointments this fantasy season. With today's news, it looks like it is safe to move on. Dion Waiters has started the past four games, and will look to continue to remain in the starting lineup the rest of the season.

Fantasy Impact: No timetable has been established for his return. Last week coach, Scott Brooks, said that Durant was close to being back. This recent battle with soreness doesn't look good for that timetable.

Kevin Durant will not play against the Celtics on Wednesday due to a foot injury. (Source: Anthony Slater on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Kevin Durant may return this week, but he'd have to have a full practice first. For now, Russell Westbrook and Enes Kanter will bear the offensive load. Look for D.J. Augustin to get some more minutes and Anthony Morrow should get a bigger offensively role too.

Category: , Injury Updates

Coach, Scott Brooks, said before the Thunder's game Wednesday night that Durant had been re-evaluated earlier in the day and was quoted saying Durant "had another good workout today." (Source: ABC News)

Fantasy Impact: Durant's return cannot come sooner as the Thunder have only marginally stayed above .500 since his departure. Durant returning to the lineup will likely lead to a reduction in Russell Westbrook's oversized role in the offense.

Category: , Injury Updates

Kevin Durant''s injured right foot is going to be reevaluated in a week or so according to coach Scott Brooks. Durant underwent a second surgery on his right foot Feb. 22 to alleviate soreness. (Source: The Oklahoman)

Fantasy Impact: The lingering injury continues to cost Durant games as he has missed 33 of the Thunder's 60 games this season. Kyle Singler will continue to start in Durant's absence.

Category: , Injury Updates

Kevin Durant has undergone a surgical procedure to replace a screw in his right foot, the foot he broke earlier in the season. He will miss one week at the very least, according to team doctors. (Source: Yahoo Sports)

Fantasy Impact: This season has been anything but injury-free and healthy for Kevin Durant. Last season's MVP has already missed tons of games to begin the season, and some games after coming back. Expect his teammates Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka to once again carry the heavy load for the Thunder. New members of the team like Enes Kanter, and even Dion Waiters will have bumps in their fantasy values, too. Albeit the former will have more upside.

Kevin Durant underwent a minor procedure to help reduce pain and discomfort in his surgically repaired right foot. He will be re-evaluated in a week. The Thunder expect him to return to play in the regular season. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: This is really poor timing for a team that after the trade deadline felt poised for a championship run. The absence of Durant will lead to big numbers for Russell Westbrook as well as could provide the number of free shots that Dion Waiters has been looking for to get into a rhythm.

Durant left Thursday's game against the Mavericks late in the fourth quarter limping, The Oklahoman reports. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: When Durant is healthy he is an elite fantasy player. The problem is that the injury bug has gotten to him this season. Before the injury, Durant was having an off scoring game with 12 points (4-of-14 shooting), six rebounds, five assists and one steal. Durant is listed as day-to-day, but the Thunder are going to be extremely careful with their star moving forward.

In Wednesday's win over Memphis, Kevin Durant logs in 34 minutes of action and puts up the following numbers: 26 points (nine-for-15 from the field, four-for-six from three-point range and four-for-four from the line), 10 rebounds, three blocks, three assists and one steal.

Fantasy Impact: Durant's scoring average is slowly but surely going up and up as the season progresses. The Thunder are playing very well right now and there is no reason to think that Durant won't continue to push his scoring average closer and closer to 30 points per game in the second half of the season.

In Sunday's win over the the Clippers, Kevin Durant had 29 points (10-for-15 from the field, two-for-three from behind the arc and seven-for-seven from the line), five rebounds, six assists and two turnovers in 29 minutes of action.

Fantasy Impact: Durant is starting to look like himself again after dealing with a nagging toe injury. It's safe to assume at this point that he'll once again play like one of the top 10 fantasy players in the NBA again. Start him without any worries.

Thunder forward Kevin Durant had 27 points (nine-for-26 from the field, three-for-10 from three-point range and six-for-seven from the line), five rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and two turnovers in 43 minutes of action (in a loss to New Orleans).

Fantasy Impact: It was nice to see Durant back after missing some time due to a toe injury, but it was clear he was still limited a bit from the injury on Friday. Durant wore a protective boot following Friday's game, but expect him to try to suit up on Sunday against the Clippers and of course, he's still a must-start fantasy player in all leagues.

Fantasy Impact: Durant will return after missing the last two games with a sprained left toe.

Fantasy Impact: No one knows for sure when Durant will be back, but he's currently being listed as questionable for Friday's game against New Orleans.

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant will not play the Orlando Magic on Wednesday because of a toe injury. (Source: NewsOK.com)

Fantasy Impact: A sprained left toe forced Durant to miss two straight games before he returned in Saturday's 85-74 loss to Memphis. He only scored 15 points on five-of-16 shooting and was clearly not 100 percent. Dion Waiters will start for Durant on Wednesday. Perry Jones will also miss Wednesday's game because of a sore left ankle.

Forward Kevin Durant (out with a toe injury) missed team practice on Tuesday and Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Scott Brooks said that he'll probably be out of action on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans. (Source: CBS Sports)

Fantasy Impact: Keep track of Durant's health status before game-time on Wednesday. He's probably going to miss this one, so be prepared to have another option lined up as his fill-in starter (if doable) on your fantasy team for the time being.

Kevin Durant scored 15 points, to go along with seven rebounds and four assists. He also made five out of his six free throw attempts.

Fantasy Impact: After missing two straight games with a minor toe injury, Kevin Durant returned Saturday against Memphis. Despite posting good enough numbers, considering he was sidelined for a couple of games, his rust was also obvious as he only made five out of his 16 field goal attempts, and was only good for a single steal and no blocks. To put the cherry on top of his lacklustre performance, he also turned the ball over four times. Albeit playing woefully, owners should not panic. Durant is still poised to be a top fantasy player, especially with the Thunder relying too much on him and Westbrook at both sides of the court.

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant partially participated in Saturday's shootaround. He's officially listed as a game-time decision. (Source: Anthony Slater on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: He's missed the last two games with a sprained toe, but I like his chances to play on Saturday night in such an important game against Memphis. He's a must-start if he ends up playing, but if he sits then Perry Jones will likely start again. Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka will gain the largest additions to their offensive roles though.

In Wednesday's loss to the Knicks, Kevin Durant's 26.7 points per game this past seven days were dearly missed, as the Thunder had to rely on their other superstar Russell Westbrook. Even with 40 points by Westbrook, it was still not enough for Oklahoma City as only two other guys scored in double figures.

Fantasy Impact: With Durant's injury, it was almost expected that players like Serge Ibaka, and Reggie Jackson will have huge upticks in their stats especially in their scoring. But many owners were disappointed as Jackson and Ibaka can only manage 23 points between themselves. Meanwhile, owners of Durant should be happy enough that the latest injury of last season's Most Valuable Player is only considered "minor". Owners should also check updates from time to time before deciding to bench Durant.

Kevin Durant out against Knicks

Wed, Jan 28th 12:49pm EST
By Matt Brandon

Kevin Durant will miss his second game in a row with a sprained left big toe. The Thunder do not play again until Saturday when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies. (Source: Newsday)

Fantasy Impact: The reigning MVP should be ready to go on Saturday but fantasy owners will want to monitor his status. Meanwhile, expect Dion Waiters, Reggie Jackson, Perry Jones, and Anthony Morrow to pick up the slack on Wednesday when the Thunder face the Knicks.

Kevin Durant will miss Monday's game with a left great toe sprain. He suffered the injury Sunday against Cleveland and has decided to sit out after going through warmups. (Source: Darnell Mayberry on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Perry Jones will get the start. Expect Russell Westbrook and Dion Waiters to put up plenty of shots.

Kevin Durant went 12-23 from the field (only 1-5 from beyond the arc) and 7-9 at the free throw line for 32 points against the Cavaliers. He finished his night with nine assists, six rebounds, two blocks, and only one turnover.

Fantasy Impact: Durant always scores the ball well, but his rebounds and assists have been up in January making him an even better play in category leagues. He has also lowered his turnovers per game from 3.5 in December to 2.3 in January.

Durant had another poor shooting night at 36.4 percent from the field (3-9 from beyond the arc and 2-4 from the free throw line) in 41 minutes or 21 points. He finished his night with three rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal with two turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: Durant has shot under 40 percent in two out of his last three games, slightly limiting his value in category leagues. He is still putting up a ton in point formats but may not be worth the investment in daily games right now.

Kevin Durant finished the overtime win with 34 points, seven rebounds, three assists, one block, and three turnovers. He went 10-23 from the field, 4-10 from three-point range, and 10-11 from the free throw line.

Fantasy Impact: Durant has not been shooting very well (by his standards) over the last two games, only averaging 40.5 from the field (he shot at last 66.7 percent in the four previous games), but he manages to avoid burning fantasy owners by producing in other counting categories and still scoring a decent amount thanks to the free throw line. He is the focal point of Oklahoma City's offense so he will continue to get his shots up and increase his percentage.

Kevin Durant only shot 9-24 from the field, a very disappointing 0-8 from three-point range, and 1-1 at the free throw line for 19 points. He still managed to contribute in other categories with eight rebounds, eight assists, four steals, one block, and no turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: Durant is just a beast in all formats, managing to put up a huge number in point formats and performing well in category formats despite shooting poorly. Prior to this game against the Heat, Durant had shot over 65 percent from the field in four straight games so expect him to get back on track very soon.

Kevin Durant scored 21 points, with 11 rebounds, eight assists, one block, and one steal with three turnovers. He shot 7-10 from the field, 0-1 from beyond the arc, and 7-7 at the free throw line in 28 minutes of work.

Fantasy Impact: The only downside of the night were Durant's lack of three-pointers for category owners but he still produced at an elite level. Durant is on fire as of late and his price in daily games reflects it, but if the matchup is right then there is no reason not to pull the trigger.

Kevin put up big numbers once again with 36 points, nine rebounds, four assists, one steal, and only two turnovers. He shot a scorching hot 14-18 from the field, 3-5 from three-point land, and a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line.

Fantasy Impact: He is an elite producer and can carry a fantasy team in any format. Like all elite players, he carries one of the steepest prices in daily games and should only be added when faced with an easy matchup.

Kevin Durant scored 24 points along with 10 rebounds, one assist, and three blocks but did turn the ball over four times. He shot 8-12 from the field, 4-6 from three-point range, and 4-4 from the free throw line.

Fantasy Impact: This marks the second game in a row in which Durant has shot 66.7 percent from the field while scoring over 20 points. Durant is an elite producer in all categories and he seems to have figured out the shooting problems that plagued him last week.

Durant put up 32 points, six assists, five rebounds, one block, and one steal in a close win over the Jazz. He went 14-21 from the field, 2-7 from three-point range, and was a perfect 2-2 from the free throw line.

Fantasy Impact: This was Durant's best shooting performance over the last three games so it is nice to see him return to form. The Thunder have the next five days off so his value may actually be limited in the short term but at least he will be rested.

Kevin Durant scored 24 points along with nine rebounds, one block, and one steal. He shot 8-20 from the field, 3-7 from beyond the arc, and 5-7 at the free throw line. The only real downside of his performance were his four turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: Durant averages 50.7 percent from the field so his 8-20 performance is not great but it will not sting fantasy owners like his 3-16 did two days ago. The Thunder's next game is on Friday against a soft Jazz team so expect Durant to stay in form.

Kevin Durant only shot 3-16 from the field and 7-11 from the free throw line in a 14 point effort against Golden State. He still managed to lock up the double-double with 10 rebounds, while also recording three assists and two steals.

Fantasy Impact: This was not one of Durant's greatest performances, but 14 and 10 should help any team regardless of format. Durant had scored 34 and 44 in back to back games prior to Monday's contest, so look at this as a little blip on the radar and continue to count on Durant (assuming he stays off of the injury report).

Kevin Durant left before halftime of Thursday night's game with Golden State after twisting his ankle on a drive to the basket. X-rays were negative but Durant will not play Friday versus the Lakers. He is considered day-to-day and remains questionable for the Thunder's next game on Sunday. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Durant was well on his way to what could have been a career night. He had scored 30 points in only 18 minutes before leaving with the injury. Good news is that the ankle is not broken and is not considered serious. The Thunder are taking extra precaution with their superstar as he missed the first 17 games of the season with a foot injury. Perry Jones makes a great value option in daily leagues as he will most likely receive the start in Durant's place.

Thunder forward Kevin Durant left Thursday's game against the Warriors after rolling his ankle late in the first half. X-rays were taken and were negative, but Durant did not return. He is already listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Lakers. (Source: Marc Stein on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Durant was off to a blazing start in this game. He had scored 30 points in only 18 minutes before exiting with the injury. With the Thunder facing the lowly Lakers Friday, I would expect him to be held out as a precaution. Check back for his status tomorrow night.

Thunder forward Kevin Durant scored 23 points in only 24 minutes Sunday night. Durant filed up the stat sheet with eight rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and one three-pointer.

Fantasy Impact: Durant has been limited to 27 minutes a game since returning from his foot injury two weeks ago. Still averaging nearly 21 points in those seven games, just imagined when Durant is fully healthy and not playing on a minutes restriction.

According to the Sportscenter Twitter feed, forward Kevin Durrant will make his season debut Tuesday, against New Orleans. (Source: Sportscenter via Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Durrant returning to action is huge news for fantasy owners. Daily fantasy players might want to take the wait and see approach, as sites have him priced where he left off last year. However, for tournaments, Durrant can be a contrairian pick that could pay off big time. Players will be cautious to pay up for the reigning MVP, so his ownership might be low.

Fantasy Impact: With the season starting on Oct. 28, Durant's injury timeline puts his return shortly after the season begins. As of now, the biggest concern for fantasy owners should who to plug in during his absence versus whether or not you should draft him. His draft stock should not decrease at all based on this news.
