Kevon Looney exercising $5.1M option to return to the Warriors in 2021-22

Golden State Warriors C Kevon Looney is reportedly exercising the $5.1 million option in his contract to return with the team for the 2021-22 season, per Adrian Wojnarowski.

Fantasy Impact

Looney averaged 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 points across 19 minutes per game this season, maintaining much better health and appearing in 61 games compared to an injury-riddled 2019 season. Draymond Green and Kelly Oubre Jr. often earned the most minutes in the Warriors' small-ball front-court this past season but Looney's return ensures a solid 6'9 presence in the paint for when All-Star Klay Thompson returns from injury.

Kevon Looney (wrist) will start at center Tuesday vs Knicks

Warriors center Kevin Looney (wrist) will start in Tuesday's matchup against the Knicks.

Fantasy Impact

Though Looney's getting the nod to enter the starting five, he's only topped 20 minutes played once in his last ten court appearances. With teammate James Wiseman also healthy, we could see the Warriors deploy an evenly distributed committee approach to their center position this evening.

Kevon Looney (ankle) will be re-evaluated in two weeks

Golden State Warriors center Kevon Looney who suffered an ankle injury during Tuesday's loss to the Celtics, will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Fantasy Impact

With Looney and rookie James Wiseman both on the shelf for at least two weeks each, the Warriors are left thin at the center position. Golden State will now have to turn to Eric Paschall, Draymond Green, and Juan Toscano-Anderson as their available "centers."

Kevon Looney (ankle) will miss a few games

Warriors center Kevon Looney (ankle) will miss a few games after injuring his ankle during Tuesday's loss to the Boston Celtics.

Fantasy Impact

After injuring his ankle during Tuesday's loss, the Warriors will now be without both of their centers in Kevon Looney and James Wiseman. Golden State will now have to turn to Eric Paschall, Draymond Green, and Juan Toscano-Anderson as their available "centers."

Kevon Looney posts 11 points in Warriors victory

Kevon Looney scored 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and two assists in only 12 minutes during the Warriors win over the Kings on Monday.

Fantasy Impact

Looney was great on a per-minute basis but the return of Draymond Green impacted his playing time. He likely won't see enough playing time to produce fantasy friendly stat lines going forward. He'll look to continue coming off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Clippers.
