Luke Kornet scored 20 points (8-11 FG, 4-4 FT) with 12 rebounds and one block in Sunday's 124-113 victory over the Washington Wizards.
Fantasy Impact
Kornet recorded his second double-double of the season on Sunday while shooting an impressive 72.7% from the field. He remains in the starting lineup as the San Antonio Spurs continue to take a cautious approach with Victor Wembanyama following his month-long absence due to injury.
Luke Kornet scored 14 points (7-9 FG) and grabbed six rebounds in Tuesday's 124-113 loss to the New York Knicks.
Fantasy Impact
The Spurs suffered a loss in the NBA Cup Championship at the hands of the Knicks on Tuesday night. Kornet can't see much blame for that, however, as he was able to score 14 points on great efficiency and ended the game with the best +/- out of anyone on the team at +7. Fantasy managers should not expect him to be very valuable moving forward now that Victor Wembanyama is back in the lineup for the Spurs, however.
Luke Kornet participated in Monday morning’s shootaround and is expected to play in Monday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Fantasy Impact
Kornet missed the San Antonio Spurs’ last game with an ankle injury but is expected to return on Monday. If he does suit up, Jeremy Sochan will likely see a dip in minutes.
Luke Kornet (ankle) is considered questionable for Monday's game against the Pelicans.
Fantasy Impact
Kornet's injury was expected to be minor. The initial target for his return was against the Pelicans, and that seems to be playing out. Kornet hadn't been lighting up the scoreboard, but his playmaking on both ends of the court would warrant him being a strong start for fantasy managers.
A notable defensive streak will be put on pause Friday, as Luke Kornet has been ruled out of the matchup against the Cavaliers due to ankle soreness. The big man had been capitalizing on an extended run in the starting lineup, starting nine consecutive games in place of Victor Wembanyama and tallying 14 blocks along with three steals over his last six appearances.
Fantasy Impact
With both Kornet and Wembanyama sidelined, the Spurs' frontcourt rotation is set for a shakeup. Kelly Olynyk and Bismack Biyombo are expected to step into larger roles to fill the void in the paint, while Jeremy Sochan could also see minutes as a small-ball center. The injury is considered minor, and Kornet will target a return for Monday's game in New Orleans.
