Marvin Bagley III
F - SAC
Marvin Bagley has been listed as doubtful ahead of the Kings game Friday against Memphis.
Bagley likely won't play after Sacramento was eliminated from playoff contention on Thursday.
Sacramento Kings PF Marvin Bagley III (groin) has been listed as doubtful Thursday vs the Grizzlies.
The short-handed Kings will potentially be without Bagley, Fox, and Barnes on Thursday. If all miss, the Kings will look to Hassan Whiteside to see more minutes.
F/C Marvin Bagley III experienced some tightness after Sunday's game and after workouts before the game, he was ruled out due to soft tissue tightness in his right leg.
F Chimezie Metu got the start in place of Bagley in Tuesday night, and with the season coming to a close it wouldn't shock me to see the Kings be extra careful and sit Bagley until he feels 100%. With Bagley's shot attempts up for grabs, Terence Davis II becomes a much more intriguing play in fantasy lineups.
Kings F/C Marvin Bagley III finished the game with just 13 points (5-7 FG, 0-1 3PT, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, and one block.
The Bagley usage is certainly puzzling for fantasy owners. After putting up 31 points, Bagley has seen just 19 and 21 minutes in each of the last two games respectively. One can only wonder if Bagley reaggravated an injury, or if the Kings are just trying different lineups with the season all but over. Either way, this is a situation to avoid if at all possible.
Kings big man Marvin Bagley III had a mere four points (1-5 FG, 0-1 3PT, 2-6 FT), two rebounds, and one assist in Friday night's loss to the Spurs.
Fresh off his best game of the season (31 points, 12 rebounds) Bagley saw just 19 minutes of playing time in this one. As much as I want to say Bagley just had a bad night, he also didn't get the chance to really get going. G Terence Davis II caught fire in the first half and head coach Luke Walton decided to roll with the hot hand at the expense of Bagley's minutes. Bagley will get the chance to redeem himself Sunday night against Oklahoma City.
