The Celtics are trading PJ Dozier and Bol Bol, a future second and cash to the Magic for a future second-round pick.
Bol Bol (foot surgery) and Dozier (torn ACL) are both out for the season, so the Celtics simply save some money with this move.
Per Brett Siegel, a three team trade in the NBA has been pulled off. Here are the details. Celtics Receive: C Bol Bol, F PJ Dozier, Spurs Receive: F Juan Hernangomez, DEN 2028 2nd Rounder, Nuggets Receive: G Bryn Forbes.
Dozier and Bol were both part of a three team trade that sent the pair to Boston. The move gets the Celtics under the luxury tax and gives the Nuggets more guard depth.
According to Woj, the Nuggets fear PJ Dozier has suffered a torn ACL and this would likely end his season.
There is still more evaluation that needs to be done but this is what is believed to be the case so far. This is tough news for a Nuggets team that has had a injury plagued season as they are missing Michael Porter Jr, Jamal Murray, Nikola Jokic and now PJ Dozier.
PJ Dozier scored three points (1-6 FG, 1-2 3-pt) while adding two rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes on Monday before leaving with an apparent groin/hip injury.
Dozier hasn't impressed much over the past 10 days since a 23-point outburst on April 24th. He should now also be considered day-to-day with this new injury and can be safely dropped in all fantasy leagues at this point.
PJ Dozier started and scored 16 points (7-15 FG, 1-6 3-pt, 1-1 FT) while adding five rebounds, one assist, and four turnovers in a 110-104 win over the Clippers on Saturday.
Coach Michael Malone was very complimentary of the job Dozier did defensively against Paul George after the game as well. With that said, Dozier had been very quiet in his previous three games and is very risky to trust in fantasy leagues right now. Chances are there are better options available on the waiver wire.
