Former NBA center Spencer Hawes will work out for the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Hawes has played ten years in the NBA, most recently in the 2016-17 season for the Hornets and Bucks. He played for the South Bay Lakers in the G League last season. Hawes played three years for the 76ers from 2010-2013 and averaged 9.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks across 24.4 minutes per tilt. If Hawes indeed re-joins his former team, he'll scrap for backup minutes at center with Jonah Bolden and Kyle O'Quinn.
The Bucks intend to waive Spencer Hawes while using the stretch provision to spread out the remaining $6.2 million over the next three seasons. Hawes will look to sign on elsewhere this season.

Hawes came over to Milwaukee in the Miles Plumlee deal who was paid even more than Hawes, which is ridiculous. Hawes is a stretch four who can shoot so he should be able to land something but isn't a fantasy option.
Spencer Hawes has exercised his player option for next season worth $6 million. Hawes wasn't going to command that money on the open market but he will return with money and being third on the depth chart behind Thon Maker and Greg Monroe.

Spencer Hawes scored 15 points in just 17 minutes of action in Wednesday's season finale loss to the Celtics. Hawes hit 5-of-7 shots from the field including 2-of-3 from three-point range to go along with five rebounds and two assists.

Hawes saw a spike in playing time on Wednesday with the Bucks resting some of their players before the playoffs. Hawes will likely only play sparingly in the opening round of the playoffs against the Raptors.
