Willie Cauley-Stein provided just two points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt) with five rebounds and two assists over 17 minutes as the Mavericks lost to the 76ers 111-97 on Thursday.
With Kristaps Porzingis out again Cauley-Stein, Dwight Powell, and Boban Marjanovic tried to fill in and contain Joel Embiid. WCS put up some good games back in early to mid-January but hasn't contributed much in February. Over his last games he's averaging 16 minutes, 5.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks over his last nine games. There's no fantasy value here.
Willie Cauley-Stein scored 14 points (5-6 FG, 4-4 FT) with six rebounds over 23 minutes in the Mavericks 118-117 win over the Hawks on Wednesday.
Cauley-Stein played 23 minutes after posting just 31 points combined over his last three games. The big man was a DNP in the Mavericks last two games as well as coach Rick Carlisle continues to tinker with his lineup to find a winning formula. Cauley-Stein is a capable performer when he gets the the playing time but that' been hard to come by lately. He's best left on the waiver wire.
Willie Cauley-Stein produced 14 points (7-8 FG) with nine rebounds, four blocks, and two assists over 30 minutes as the Mavericks lost their fifth in a row to the Suns by a score of 111-105 on Saturday.
Kristaps Porzingis got the night off so Cauley-Stein drew the start in his place. He logged 30 minutes, which were the most he's played in over two weeks, while swatting a season-high four shots. WCS put up some solid numbers in mid-January while the Mavs were shorthanded but now that they're nearly back at full strength, his usage has been hard to come by. Once Maxi Kleber returns to the fold then Cauley-Stein will see his already inconsistent playing time most likely diminish.
Willie Cauley-Stein put up six points (3-4 FG) with three rebounds and one block over 18 minutes as the Mavericks fell to the Rockets 133-108 on Saturday.
Cauley-Stein had a nice run going in the beginning of the month when he was starting and averaging over 22 minutes per game for the Mavs. Coach Rick Carisle started to tweak with his lineup four games ago and that sent Cauley-Stein to the bench, which has significantly hampered his fantasy value. While he did draw the start on Saturday, he only played 18 minutes and contributed very few counting stats. The big man needs consistent playing time to have any sort of impact for fantasy and if he's not getting it, he's not worth a roster spot. Overall, he's averaging 18.9 minutes, 6.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks per game.
Willie Cauley-Stein managed 11 points (5-7 FG, 1-2 FT) to go along with 11 rebounds, one assist, and one block across 30 minutes in the Mavericks 112-109 loss to the Bucks on Friday.
The double-double was Cauley-Stein's first of the season as he logged a season-high 30 minutes. He's been a legitimate contributor since joining the starting lineup five games ago. Over that span, he's averaging a solid 26.6 minutes, 8.2 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game. He's worth considering in deeper fantasy leagues if you need help with rebounds and blocks.
