Mavericks F/C Willie Cauley-Stein has decided to sit out the remainder of the 2019-20 season in Orlando.
Cauley-Stein and his partner are expecting a newborn child in July, so he’s decided to sit out the NBA restart in Walt Disney World. The Mavericks will be shorthanded in the front court, and will run out a rotation of Kristaps Porzingis, Maxi Kleber, and Boban Marjanovich.
Willie Cauley-Stein (illness) will not play Tuesday’s game against the Spurs.
Cauley-Stein did not make the trip to San Antonio and will not play Tuesday’s game. He picked up the illness sometime on Monday and it was serious enough to keep him out at least one game. His next chance to return will be Wednesday’s tilt against the Nuggets.

Cauley-Stein has missed the last six games due to a personal matter. Fantasy owners should monitor his status closer to tip-off to ensure he is active. WCS is averaging 7.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.2 blocks across 50 games this season. With Kristap Porzingis ruled out Monday, Cauley-Stein should see an expanded role and is worth using as a streamer for Monday's slate.
