Michael Vick to meet with Pittsburgh Steelers photo
It appears Michael Vick is visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers today in hopes of replacing injured backup QB Bruce Gradkowski. Vick, who turned 35 this summer, had a tough time finding success as a New York Jet last season after appearing in 10 games. Even though Vick has a much different style than Ben Roethlisberger, you can’t help but think his veteran experience and playmaking ability gives any NFL team a decent shot for continued success in the event that their starting QB goes down.
Strong Start for Ben Roethlisberger photo
So far, so good for Ben Roethlisberger. During his limited role thus far, Big Ben has completed 14/17 passes for 159 yards, 2 TDs, and 0 INTs through two preseason games. As strong as he was, the Pittsburgh offensive line took a step backwards against the Green Bay Packers due to an ankle injury that will likely require surgery for pro-bowl center, Maurkice Pouncey. While this is a very unfortunate injury, Roethlisberger’s fantasy projections should remain the same.

Markus Wheaton moves to slot receiver position photo
The Pittsburgh Steelers want Markus Wheaton to primarily play the slot position in their three-WR formations. Personnel changes in Todd Haley’s system were needed due to the departure of Lance Moore. Wheaton has some prior slot experience, but more importantly, Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant are both more valuable when playing on the outside.
