Paul Perkins named Giants' starting running back

by Anthony Cervino | Mon, May 1st 6:30pm EDT

New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo told the media Paul Perkins will be the team's starting running back in 2017. (Paul Schwartz on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Perkins will start for the Giants in 2017. This is not surprising as the impending second-year rusher outperformed Rashad Jennings at the tail end of the 2016 season and started over him in the playoffs. With Jennings out, New York released him early in the offseason, there is no legitimate threat on the roster to challenge Perkins for the No. 1 role. Shane Vereen will likely serve as the No. 2 back on the depth chart and as the team's primary receiver out of the backfield. Target Perkins in the mid-rounds of fantasy drafts for the 2017 campaign.
