Jared Abbrederis impressing Lions' staff

by Anthony Cervino | Mon, Jun 5th 7:56am EDT

Detroit Lions beat writer David Birkett is reporting head coach Jim Caldwell has been impressed by wide receiver Jared Abbrederis' route running at OTAs. "The guy’s a really good route runner, very, very good just in terms of his ability to find open areas,” Caldwell said via the Detroit Free Press. “He has good spatial awareness. You complement all those things that he can do from an offensive standpoint with his ability to play special teams as well. He’s really coming along and really doing well, so he’s just got to keep progressing.” (Detroit Free Press)

Fantasy Impact:

Abbrederis, who is entering his third season in the NFL, has accumulated 10 receptions for 119 yards in his two-year career. He is expected to engage in a battle for the starting slot receiver spot for the remainder of the offseason with T.J. Jones and Kenny Golladay on the Lions' offense for the 2017 season. If Abbrederis emerges on top, he'll garner deep sleeper fantasy value for the upcoming campaign and would be worth a late-round flier in fantasy drafts.
